 用来作表语的从句叫作表语从句,说明主语是什么或者怎么样。放

二、表语从句的引导词及其用法

  Gregory Burns, a well-known artist and speaker, has run a
marathon, climbed both Mount Kinabalu and Jade Mountain, and much
more.He has gained many achievements in his life despite the fact that he
had polio (小儿麻痹症) as a child.
  When Burns was one year old, he was diagnosed with polio, and
he lost the use of his legs.In 1962, his doctor said, “The best thing for
a kid with polio would be to swim in a warm-water pool.” So,
arrangements were made for the boy to practice swimming.In the water,

Burns discovered the Paralympic Games.He spent the next 27 years in
international swimming competitions, some of which resulted in five

Classroom.Over the years, Burns had many interesting jobs.But it

working as a full-time artist, Burns uses his art to inspire people of all

practice finally caught up with him, and in 1786 he was found dead in his
laboratory surrounded by a large number of dangerous chemicals, any of
which might have been responsible for his death.
  Eugene Shoemaker was a respected geologist.He spent a large part of
his life studying craters (火山口) on the Moon, and how they were
formed, and later did research into the comets of the planet Jupiter.In
1997 he and his wife were in the Australian desert where they went every
year to search for places where comets might have hit the Earth.While
driving in the Tanami desert, normally one of the emptiest places in the
world, another vehicle crashed into them and Shoemaker was killed on

some people complain like this: Those tests are so stupid. When I was in
the sixth grade, I took one of them and it said that I should be a farmer.

to make a clear difference between liking a topic and liking the work. I
once met a third-year marine biology student at a large state school in
Ohio. He was placed into the Whale Watch Program, where he found out
that he became violently seasick on any kind of boat — a big disadvantage
for a student who thought he wanted to study whales in the wild.
The best match is a career in which the major tasks of the work are the
tasks you most enjoy doing and the topic is one of your favourites. If that
career doesn’t exist, my advice would be to take the job where there is
a skill match. In this way, you will succeed at the basic tasks of your job
and perhaps become interested in it.

adjustments , the time has finally come for Mr Wang to wind up the
gigantic clocks that date back to the time of Emperor Qianlong.The
