China is a country with a long history and rich culture. It has many amazing natural wonders and man-made structures, which attract millions of visitors from all over the world every year.
The Great Wall is the most famous symbol of China. It was built more than 2000 years ago and it's about 21196 kilometres long. It's one of the seven wonders of the world and it shows the wisdom of the ancient Chinese people. The Palace Museum, also called the Forbidden City, is in the centre of Beijing. It was the home of the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It has more than 9000 buildings and it's the largest ancient palace in the world.
Besides man-made wonders, China also has many beautiful natural wonders. Mount Huang is in Anhui Province. It's famous for its strange pines, strange rocks and sea of clouds. Guilin in Guangxi is known for its "mountain water landscape", which is described as "Guilin's mountains and waters are the best under heaven". The Yangtze River, the longest river in China, runs through many provinces and it's an important river for the Chinese nation.
These wonders of China are not only the treasure of our country, but also the wealth of the world. We should protect them well so that they can be passed on to future generations.
