Do you like delicious blueberries If so, when you eat next time, take a look at them. Are they really blue
Not really. Once taking off its skin, the inside is white. Rub (摩擦) the inside of a blueberry on a white piece of paper. It is reddish-purple. And if you rub the outside of a blueberry, it gets almost black. But the moment you pick one, it does look blue. Why
①The first way is through “structural color” (结构色).②The blueberry makes “structural color” in its own way. ③When the blueberry is fully grown, it is black. ④But a thin layer of wax (蜡层), on the outside of the blueberry, gives it a blue look.
The second is through plant pigments (色素). The pigments on the blueberry skin take in green and yellow light and reflect (反射) blue light. That’s why blueberries look blue in our eyes. In fact, there aren’t any “true blue” in the plants. We can also see something similar on the green leaves.
The blueberry’s special color way is cool. It shows nature’s magic. More secrets in our nature are waiting for us to discover! Now your bowl of blueberries suddenly looks a lot more interesting!

Many people think that it is good for an elderly (年老的) person to keep a pet. Elderly people may miss their friends and family who are no longer around. However, a kitten (a young cat) for an elderly person is not a good idea.
Kittens are tiring. Elderly people, even those in the best of health, will have a lot of difficulties running after a kitten and, unluckily, kittens do need a lot of care. They need to be trained not to destroy homes and not to run up curtains (窗帘), and they need a lot of fun-time which an elderly person may not be able to give them. And an elderly person will not want to look for the cat. It needs much energy.
________________ But kittens can be really expensive. They need to be taken to the animal doctors for health checks, especially when they are young. Cat food is usually expensive, and their beds, toys and other things all cost much money. For an elderly person living on a pension (退休金), the cost can be more than they can afford.
If an elderly person really wants an animal friend, an older cat would be a much better choice. Getting one from a cats’ home should make sure that it is already well trained. And with a little bit of care, it will live in a home with an elderly person.
Elderly people should carefully think about anything that may lead to extra stress (压力). So think of other ways for them to live a better life.

35.What is the main idea of Paragraph 4

主语My mother是第三人称单数,排除A、C。
结合语境及答句“He’s from Canada.”
根据“Helen, can you help answer the phone, please ”可知,空处是表明自己正在洗碗,无法接电话,因此用现在进行时am/is/are doing,主语是I,be动词用am。故选D。
6.A
根据“My watch doesn’t work. Could you please ... me yours ”可知,此处是请求对方借给自己手表。故选A。
7.C
主语He是第三人称单数,be用is,make的现在分词是making。故选C。
8.D
be made of由……制成,强调能看出原材料;be made from由……
9.A
in danger在危险中;on time按时;on duty值日;for example例如。根据“The boy swimming in the river is ... Let’s go and save him.” 故选A。

comes from来自;dates from追溯到,始于;hears from收到…… 根据“The Chinese Pingfeng...the Han Dynasty.”

根据“Many people think that it is good for an elderly (年老的) person to keep a pet. However, a kitten (a young cat) for an elderly person is not a good idea.”
根据“kittens do need a lot of care. They need to be trained not to destroy homes and not to run up curtains, and they need a lot of fun - time which an elderly person may not be able to give them”可知,前文一直在阐述小猫需要大量照顾,需要被训练等内容,所以此处“them”指代的是前文提到的 “kittens”,即小猫。故选A。
根据“But kittens can be really expensive. They need to be taken to the animal doctors for health checks, especially when they are young. Cat food is usually expensive, and their beds, toys and other things all cost much money”可知,后文详细说明了照顾小猫在健康检查、食物、用品等方面花费高昂,因此空白处应填入与照顾猫成本相关的句子,A 选项“照顾任何年龄的猫都不便宜”符合语境,能自然引出后文。故选A。
根据“kittens can be really expensive. They need to be taken to the animal doctors for health checks...Cat food is usually expensive, and their beds, toys and other things all cost much money”可知,文中从医疗检查、食物、用品等方面具体说明了照顾小猫的费用非常高,所以可以得出照顾小猫成本高昂的结论。故选B。
根据“If an elderly person really wants an animal friend, an older cat would be a much better choice. Getting one from a cats’ home should make sure that it is already well trained. And with a little bit of care, it will live in a home with an elderly person”可知,该段开头便点明主旨,指出如果老人想养宠物,年长的猫是更好的选择,后文围绕年长的猫已受过训练、易于照顾等优点展开,进一步说明其适合老人饲养。故选C。
36.C 37.A 38.D 39.A 40.D
根据第一段中“A two-legged tortoise is running faster after getting a set of wheels. The animal, named Mrs. T, faced a terrible life in a winter-a mouse (老鼠) ate her two front legs when she was sleeping!”
根据第三段中“Luckily, Mrs. Ryder’s son Dale made a set of wheels for Mrs. T.”可知,为了帮助Mrs. 故选A。
根据第四段中“At the age of 60, Mrs. T came to the family as a pet for Dale on his 8th birthday.
Ryder said she would find more ways to watch her garden and take better care of Mrs. T’s safety.” 故选A。

71.例文:
Dear Alice,
I’m glad to receive your letter. My favourite animals are pandas. They’re white and black. They like climbing trees.
But their situation is difficult. They’re in danger. First, pandas don’t have many babies and baby pandas often die. Second, pandas eat bamboo, but the bamboo forests are getting smaller and smaller. So we should do something for pandas. We can set up nature parks and plant more bamboo so that pandas can have enough food. It’s also a good idea to raise money for them.
I hope everyone can protect them.
Yours,
Wang Yiming
