文本关键线索梳理
I was cycling in rural Turkey(土耳其)- I couldn't tell you where. My plan that day was to ride until I reached a village with somewhere I could stay. If that didn't work out, I needed to get to the next town before sunset since that was the only spot I could really count on for abed, Out there, finding anywhere to stay wasn't exactly easy.
I was cycling quickly downhill, probably too fast for a gravel(碎石)road, I was riding around a blind corner when a car came screaming around the bend, As soon as l saw it, it was in front of me. The next thing I remember is lying in the middle of the road with the cylinder of my bike handle stuck in my leg, blood everywhere.
A week before that I had met Bryan, a bike tourist who'd ridden through more than 40 countries and settled in 定居 Turkey, I had his number because, like countless bike tourists before me, he'd let me stay the night in his small apartment in Antalya.
I was badly injured.
Bryan was always kind to cyclists.
in a remote place
After I was discharged from hospital - a rural Turkish hospital in a town I didn't even know the name of - I sat outside in a wheelchair, not knowing the exact state of my injury.I thought about calling everyone besides Bryan - Dad, Mum, best friend - but none of them could help. The only local number in my phone was Bryan's.
I don't remember much about the phone call. I know it wasn't a simple request to stay a few more nights, l essentially asked Bryan to be my carer for an indefinite period. I didn'tknow anyone else in Turkey and couldn't walk, What I do remember is that the call was easy. There was no negotiation, just a welcoming: “Sure thing.
I had received treatmemnt and was released from the hospital.
I was badly injured and helpless.
My family was far from Turkey. They could’t help me at that time
Bryan was kind to help me.
I was hesitant to bother Bryan and regarded myself as a burden.

sample
When Bryan arrived, he greeted me like a friend, not a traveler with a sorry story. Gently, he assisted me into the passanger seat, loaded my wheelchair into the trunk and drove toward his modest apartment in Antalya. There, he attended to my every need—tending to my bandages each day, preparing soft meals to ease my discomfort, and even sharing his thringlling stories when travelling in differen countries. His steady patience gradually eased my sense of being a burden, transforming me into a companion sharing his daily space. As the days unfolded, my strength returned bit by bit, allowing me to finally update my family on my recovery.
Eventually my family organised a flight home from Antalya. On the morning of my departure, Bryan personally drove me to the airport and pushed my wheelchair to the waiting area, with me carrying the small backpack. I embraced him tightly and extended my heartfelt gratitude, “Without your generous assistance, I wouldn't have handled it on my own.” Hearing my words, he simply smiled and replied, “We travelers watch out for one another—just pass it on when you can.” In that very moment, I resolved to pay forward the same kindness I had received to others. To this day, whenever I catch a glimpse of a bicycle, the memory of a stranger’s unexpected generosity continues to linger.
Wish you progress.
