Rules are different in different countries. It’s important to learn these rules to avoid trouble when traveling or living abroad.
In the United States, when you eat in a restaurant, you must tip the waiter or waitress 15-20% of the total bill. It’s considered impolite not to do so. But in some countries like Japan, tipping is not common and even can make workers uncomfortable.
