一、although引导让步状语从句
although 意为 “尽管;虽然” ,用来引导让步状语从句,表明主句的情况在从句所描述的情况下依然存在,即 “尽管从句情况发生,主句情况不受影响”。although 引导的从句可以放在主句之前,也可以放在主句之后。放在句首时,常用逗号与主句隔开;放在句末时,不用逗号。although 不能与 but 连用,但可以和yet,still等词连用。
二、until引导时间状语从句
1.用于肯定句:until 意为 “直到……为止”,主句的谓语动词通常是延续性动词,表示动作一直持续到 until 从句所表示的时间为止。
2.用于否定句:常用 “not … until …” 结构,意为 “直到……才……”,主句的谓语动词通常是非延续性动词,表示直到 until 从句所表示的时间,主句的动作才开始。
3.until引导的时间状语从句通常位于主句之后。
三、so that引导目的状语从句
so that 意为 “以便;为了”,引导目的状语从句, 用来表示主句动作发生的目的。从句中常使用 can,could,may,might,will,would 等情态动词。so that引导的目的状语从句通常位于主句之后。
四、if引导条件状语从句
if 意为 “如果”,引导条件状语从句,表示一种假设的情况,当从句的条件满足时,主句的动作才会发生。if 引导的条件状语从句遵循 “主将从现” 原则,即如果主句是一般将来时,从句要用一般现在时表将来;此外,主句还可以是含有情态动词的句子或祈使句。if引导的条件状语从句可位于主句之前或之后。位于句首时,常用逗号与主句隔开。
