Dear Ella,
I'm glad to introduce the Mid-Autumn Festival to you. It falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. On this day, families get together. People clean and decorate their houses. In the evening, family members sit around a table outdoors or by the window, enjoying the beautiful full moon. They eat delicious mooncakes of various flavors, like lotus seed paste and red bean paste. Some people also light lanterns and let them float in the air or hang them in the yard. There might be traditional performances in some places. This festival is important as it stands for family reunion. I always feel a deep sense of warmth and happiness during it. It's a time to cherish family and traditions.

Spanish director Pablo Berger’s Robot Dreams (《机器人之梦》) is a sweet but sad, anthropomorphic (拟人化的) cartoon movie about a lonely (孤独的) dog who buys a robot friend. Now in cinemas, it’s different from many films as there is no talking, but this doesn’t make it any less fun or moving.
Based on Sara Varon’s 2007 graphic novel (连环画小说) of the same name, a dog is living in 1980s New York, alone (独自地). Watching TV and living on microwave meals (微波炉餐食), the dog thinks he (or she, we’re not sure) needs a friend and decides (决定) to buy a robot. The two enjoy New York together but then something happens and the two get separated (分开的). While they try and dream about getting back together, they also have to move on with their lives.
