—— Zhangjiajie: The Real Avatar Mountains
Deep in Hunan Province, there is a magical place called Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It is China's first national forest park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site(联合国教科文组织世界遗产地). People call it "the real Avatar mountains" because the movie Avatar got ideas from here.
The park is famous for its more than 3,000 quartz sandstone pillars(石英砂岩峰柱). Some of them are over 200 meters tall. They look like huge stone trees growing towards the sky. Often, clouds and mist(云雾)wrap around the pillars, making the view look like a fairyland(仙境).
Visitors can take the Bailong Elevator(百龙电梯)to get a bird's-eye view. It is the world's tallest outdoor elevator, built right on the side of a cliff(悬崖). The ride takes only 1 minute and 58 seconds, but it gives you an amazing view.

Kung Fu Robots Amaze the World at Spring Festival Gala
On February 16, 2026, the CCTV Spring Festival Gala gave the world a big surprise. Dozens of humanoid robots(人形机器人) from Unitree Robotics performed an amazing kung fu show with young martial arts students(武术学员).
The robots did many difficult moves(动作). They did backflips(后空翻), jumped on trampolines(蹦床), and even used swords(剑) and nunchucks(双节棍). They moved in perfect synchronization(同步) with each other and with the human performers. The show was called "Cyber Real Kung Fu" and became an instant hit on social media(在社交媒体上迅速走红).
Many people around the world watched videos of the performance. Some were excited, while others felt a little nervous. One person joked on X (formerly Twitter): "Maybe we can ask ChatGPT to stop them if they attack!"
This year's show was a big leap(飞跃) from 2025. Last year, the same company's robots danced a traditional Yangge dance(扭秧歌) with handkerchiefs(手绢). Their movements were stiff(僵硬的) and careful. In just one year, they learned to do martial arts with fast and powerful moves. "The progress in just one year is magical. That's what we call China speed," said Professor Evrim Kanbur.
How did the robots get so good The team at Unitree used AI software to help the robots learn. They trained the robots in virtual environments(虚拟环境) first. Then the robots practiced in the real world. The robots also have better sensors(传感器) and controls now. They can keep balance(平衡) even after doing backflips.
The gala also showed other robots. Some robots did comedy sketches(小品), and others folded clothes or rolled walnuts(揉核桃). This shows that robots are getting smarter and more useful.
Why does this matter China is becoming a world leader in robotics(机器人技术). Last year, China made 90% of the 13,000 humanoid robots shipped around the panies in the US like Tesla are also making robots, but China is moving very fast.
What's next Elon Musk thinks humanoid robots will be sold to the public by the end of 2027. In the future, robots may help in hospitals, factories, and even at home. The kung fu robots on春晚 are not just for fun—they show us what the future will look like.

The sun hung low, brushing gold over the empty area. The air buzzed (喧闹)—not with insects, but with voices, cameras, and the weight of something about to begin.
Roy’s heart beat like a drum. He looked out at the people gathering for the pancake house ground-breaking ceremony (仪式). Behind him stood the company men and the reporters. And under his feet—hidden underground—were the tiny burrows (洞穴) of the owls.
No sign marked them. No fence protected them. They asked nothing, made no sound, yet now heavy machines waited, ready to destroy (破坏) their living area.
He thought of Mullet Fingers, the wild boy who cared about animals more than himself. He thought of brave Beatrice who helped even when it was hard. Roy had tried to stay out of trouble. He liked quiet. But now, staying quiet didn’t feel right.
He stepped up to the microphone (话筒).
“Excuse me,” he said, voice shaking. “Before you dig…you should know the truth.”
The crowd (人群) grew quiet.
“There are owls living here,” Roy said. “They’re small. They’re scared. And if you build here, you’ll destroy their homes.”
Someone in the crowd laughed. A reporter asked, “How do you know that ”
“Because I saw them. I stood right there and watched them. They live here. They belong here. And they matter.”
The manager stepped forward, “This is not your business, kid.”
Roy turned to face him. His fear turned into something else—strength.
“It’s my business. It’s everyone’s business. We can’t just destroy what we don’t see. Progress should not come at the cost of wonder,” he said.
His hands stopped shaking. People in the crowd began whispering. One mother held her child’s hand. A teacher nodded. Even the manager looked uncertain.
Roy didn’t know what would happen next. But he did what he could. He spoke the truth.

“I am a normal 20-year-old man,” Liu Chunhe, a young man with cerebral palsy (脑瘫), says in the movie Big World. The movie came out on Dec 27, 2024. It shows a summer Liu spends with his family. He tries to make his grandmother’s dream of playing the drums come true. Along the way, he also learns more about himself.
Instead of showing Liu as a person with a disability needing special care, the movie shows him as an everyday person. Many people fear or look down on him; only a few see him as an equal. People also doubt him, saying, “A person with cerebral palsy can’t play the drums.” But Liu proves them wrong by showing his other skills, like his great memory. He also learns to drive and works hard to get into his dream university.
Before playing the role of Liu in the movie, Yi Yangqianxi, the talented young actor, read books and watched videos about people with cerebral palsy. He also copied how they move, talk, and even think. With all the efforts, his acting in the movie is very real and lively. “They always put themselves in a low position. They often say ‘I’m OK’ or ‘It’s alright’, trying to please others,” Yi told CCTV.
“Playing this role has shown me a new way of looking at the world,” said Yi. “Now I feel deeply moved whenever I meet someone with cerebral palsy, or when they see themselves in my role.”

My Unforgettable Trip to The Great Wall
One of the most unforgettable places I have ever visited is the Great Wall of China. Located in the northern part of China, this world-famous structure stretches over 21,000 kilometers and has a history of more than 2,000 years. I went there during my summer vacation two years ago, and it was an amazing experience.
When I first saw the Great Wall, I was speechless. It looked like a giant dragon winding across the mountains. The wall is made of stone and brick, and some parts are very steep. Walking along the wall, I could feel the strong wind and enjoy the beautiful view of the green hills and valleys. It was both exciting and tiring because there were so many steps to climb!
I also learned a lot about the history of the Great Wall. It was built to protect China from invaders, and many people worked hard to build it. Standing there, I could imagine how difficult life must have been for the soldiers who guarded the wall hundreds of years ago.
Visiting the Great Wall made me feel proud of Chinese history and culture. It is not just a wall, but a symbol of strength and wisdom. I will never forget the day I walked on this wonder of the world.
