Ⅹ.Living in Harmony with Nature
I'm going to introduce an example of humans living in harmony with nature: rice fish farming. It's a way to grow rice and raise fish in the same field. People in China have used this system for hundreds of years.
It respects nature by letting rice and fish share the space. The fish eat pests in the field, so farmers don't need to use chemical pesticides. The rice plants provide shade for the fish, and the fish's waste provides food for the rice.
It also benefits both humans and nature. Farmers get both rice and fish from the same field. At the same time, it helps protect the soil and water from pollution. I believe this example teaches us that when we respect nature, we can get more from it while keeping the environment healthy.Unit 6 质量评估

The Sahara Desert, the largest hot desert in the world, covers about 30% of Africa across 11 countries. Although people often imagine deserts as endless sand beds, only 30% of the Sahara is sandy. The rest areas are rocky(多岩石的) and flat, with lots of open land.
Animals here have special ways to live in this hot place. The fennec fox sleeps in underground holes during the day and hunts at night. It listens carefully with its huge ears to find small animals to eat. The ears not only get information about animals around, but also act like fans to cool down. Camels(骆驼) store fat, not water, in their bodies, helping them live 15 days without food.
The Sahara Desert is home to about 2.5 million people. Many of them move with camels to find water and grasslands. Recently, countries like Algeria have built solar power stations in sunny areas. Scientists say a solar power station half the size of Shanghai could power all of Europe. These green projects not only create jobs for local people, but also help them keep both city building and desert protection going well.
Now, 15 African countries work together to plant “green walls” of trees along the desert. They expect to stop the desert from growing larger each year. Humans and nature can work together, bringing hope for a greener world.
