As Elijah walked into the school, he saw a painting on the wall. Suddenly,it brought back memories about his good friend, a boy named Andrea.
They knew each other when Andrea's family moved into Elijah's neighbourhood. That summer was unforgettable: they rode bicycles in the nearby streets, swam in the pool, and played video games together.
Over the years, they always played together. But in Grade Six, Andrea was diagnosed(诊断) with cancer. Elijah supported his best friend as well as he could by writing letters when Andrea was in hospital. When Andrea was at home, Elijah always visited him. Andrea started drawing with Elijah during this time. But finally, Andrea passed away. So, Elijah decided to do something. Andrea was always well liked by his classmates and teachers. Knowing this, Elijah wanted to work with them to draw a mural(壁画) to remember Andrea. Everyone liked the idea.
Students decided to meet on Saturday morning to begin painting. As Elijah arrived, he took the art tools out of his bags. Within 15 minutes, everyone arrived and started painting.
After the mural was finished, Elijah's eyes were filled with tears—a mix of sadness and happiness. It was a picture of two young boys riding bicycles. The mural was a perfect way to remember Andrea.
