When I was a child, my mum always wanted me to take up a hobby. In fact, I was not interested in her 26 at all. So when she took me to a music teacher’s house for the first 27 lesson, I was crying all the way.
Mr Jones, the piano teacher, was a 28 piano teacher. When he saw the sadness on my face, he played a piece of music to calm me down. I fell in love with the beautiful music and stopped 29 soon. All my sadness was gone, so I 30 to take piano lessons with him.
However, it was not 31 for a child at my age to learn the piano. I had a hard time sitting at the piano and 32 for a few hours every day. Luckily, Mr Jones taught me 33 and often encouraged me, so I made great progress. A few months later, I could enjoy the 34 coming from my fingers.
It was a pity that I didn’t 35 any serious piano competitions because of my busy school life. I didn’t practise the piano much 36 I was in junior and senior high school. However, a few years later, one day when I felt relaxed and sat down at the piano, I could 37 play beautiful music. From that day on, playing the piano became part of my life. As a person whose enthusiasm (热情) for a thing never 38 ten minutes, I can’t believe this!
Now I work as a teacher at a university. Playing the piano has been my hobby for more than ten 39 so far. I thank my mum so much because she has encouraged me to learn the piano. It has made me a 40 person. You see, sometimes, a little push can truly go a long way.

Hobbies are like little treasures in our lives. They can make our free time more colorful and help us grow. Many students don’t know how to 41 a hobby. Let me tell you some easy ways.
First, think about what you enjoy doing. Do you like drawing pictures Or do you love 42 stories Your true feeling will help you find the right hobby. For example, if you like being in nature, gardening could be a good 43 for you.
Second, don’t be afraid to try new things. When I was in Grade 7, I tried playing the guitar. At first, it was very 44 , my fingers hurt and I couldn’t play any songs. But I didn’t give up. After two months of practice, I could play a simple song. It made me very 45 .
Having a hobby is not just for fun. It also helps with our studies. When we do something we love, our brains relax. This makes it easier for us to 46 new knowledge later. My classmate Lucy loves reading. She says reading stories helps her 47 better in her Chinese class.
A hobby can also teach us important life lessons. When we practice a hobby like painting or playing sports, we learn to be 48 . We know that success doesn’t come in one day. We also learn to 49 our mistakes-no one is perfect at first.
50 you have a hobby, you’ll have more friends too. You can join clubs or groups with people who like the same thing. Last year, I joined a photography club. I met many new friends there, and we often share our 51 with each other.
Some students say they are too busy to have a hobby. But a hobby doesn't need much time. Even 20 minutes a day is enough. The key is to 52 it regularly.
In short, hobbies make our lives better. They bring us joy, help us study, and teach us skills. If you haven’t got a hobby yet, 53 not start today It will be a wonderful 54 for you. And who knows Maybe your hobby will become something really special in your 55 someday.
