Can you remember the last time you used a paper map to find your way Not on a phone, but a real paper map For me, it feels like a lifetime ago.
It was the summer of 2008. My family and I were on a road trip to visit my grandparents who lived in a small village. My father was driving, and I was the “map reader”, holding a big, colorful map. I felt so important! Back then, we didn’t have a smartphone with GPS.
About halfway, we entered a place with many small roads. Suddenly, my father wasn’t sure if we had taken the correct turn. We pulled over (停车) by the side of the road. I carefully spread the map out and the wind tried to blow it away. Together, we looked for things like rivers and
railway tracks. Finally, we found our mistake and got back on the right road. That paper map saved our trip!
Nowadays, that old map is no longer in our car. It sits in a drawer at home. We now rely on digital maps that talk to us. It’s very convenient, but somehow less of an adventure (历险).
Recently, I took the old map out of the drawer. I didn’t need it for directions. Instead, I put it on my bedroom wall. I marked all the places I have visited and dream of visiting one day. It has become a piece of art full of memories and dreams.
So, if I ever get lost on a road trip again, I probably won’t use that paper map. My phone will guide me quickly. But that old map still helps me in another way—it inspires me to explore

A botanical garden (植物园) is more than a park. It is a special place where many different plants are grown and studied. It’s like a living library of plants, a green world for everyone to
enjoy and learn. These gardens are made to show how plants are connected and to let people see their natural beauty.
In the past, some gardens mainly grew plants for medicine. Today, most botanical gardens want to help people learn about and enjoy nature. They collect plants from all over the world, and each plant has a sign with its everyday name and its scientific name. This helps visitors understand the plant world better.
As cities grow larger, botanical gardens become more important. They offer city people a chance to experience nature and relax. Many gardens also provide short courses for adults and children to learn about plant growing. Some even train professional gardeners.
A botanical garden is usually set up in a special way. Plants are often put into groups based on their plant family or where they are from. You can find special areas, like a garden just for
roses or a garden in the Chinese style. Greenhouses are built to keep plants that love warm

The world’s first robot sports competition was held recently. We saw humanoid robots run,
fall down, get up, and keep going. It was funny, but it also showed that AI is getting much better.
At the same time, AI companies are doing very well. Their stock (股票) prices have gone
up a lot. In China, the government is strongly supporting AI. Last month, it announced a new
national plan called the “AI+” action. The goal is to use AI in all industries (行业) and in our daily lives over the next ten years.
What do people think about AI A survey found that 53.1% of people are excited about it, and 26% are pleasantly surprised. Most people believe AI will change our lives greatly just like the mobile internet did.
However, some people worry that AI might take away jobs from humans. Others worry that if we depend too much on AI to think for us, our own thinking abilities might become weaker.
There are also technical problems, like AI “black boxes” (where we can’t see how AI makes a decision) and “hallucinations” (where AI gives wrong answers after learning from bad data).
Even with these worries, the development of AI will not stop. It has become an important part of competition between countries. The CEO of Cisco said that technical success often
happens very fast. Similarly, a leader at Unitree Robotics in China said the industry should focus on real, long-term development.
The Chinese government’s plan also focuses on safety and control. Safety measures will be made stronger to prevent the misuse of AI. History shows that powerful new technologies, from
steam engines to the internet, need time to grow. AI is the same. As we welcome AI, we need to be careful but also open to its positive (积极的) changes.
48 .Why is “the stock prices” mentioned in Paragraph 2
A .To explain the competition’s purpose. B .To show AI firms need more money.
C .To show AI firms’ good performance. D .To explain the high price of robots.
49 .What is the main goal of China’s “AI+” action plan
A .To stop AI from taking jobs. B .To use AI in all industries.
C .To develop more sports robots. D .To reduce AI’s technical problems.
50 .What do we know from Paragraph 3
A .Most people feel positive about AI. B .Many people worry about losing jobs.
C .Some people realize the AI’s problems. D .Few people worry about AI’s future.
51 .What can we infer about the future of AI from the passage

School sports play a very important role in helping students grow healthily and happily.
Unfortunately, the Aspen Institute reports that less than 4 out of 10 high school students regularly take part in sports, and fewer than 25% of students get enough physical activity. If students don’t take part in sports, both they and the school may miss out on many good things. 53
Sports can actually help us study better. You might think sports take time away from
homework. 54 When we exercise, our brain gets more oxygen, which helps us
concentrate better in class and remember things more easily. So, playing sports is like charging our brain’s battery!
Being active is essential for our health. Sports help us build strong bodies, improve our
eyesight, and avoid becoming “overweight children” or “children who wear glasses”. Outdoor activities are especially good for us. 55 After studying for a long time, running around or playing ball games can help us let out stress and feel happy again.
56 When we play on a team, we learn how to cooperate (合作) with others, how to never give up, and how to be a good player whether we win or not. These lessons about
teamwork and never giving up are just as important as the lessons we learn in our textbooks.
Schools are now creating a sports culture, and everyone can take part in it. There are
different kinds of class competitions and inter-school games. 57 Let’s get moving, enjoy the sunshine, and build a healthier, happier school life through sports.
A .However, it’s the opposite.
B .Perhaps that is exactly the case.
C .Moreover, sports are a great way to relax.
试卷第 11 页,共 13 页
D .Through sports, we learn important life skills.
E .The goal is to make sports an enjoyable part of each day.

G .By providing fun sports, schools can improve their educational performance.
