Young inventors around the world are using their creativity and talent to transform everyday items, making life safer and more convenient for everyone.
Because regular helmets are big and heavy, many people ride electric bikes without wearing helmets, which is both illegal and unsafe. Vocational student Bian Chenxue and her team designed a foldable, lightweight helmet using 3D printing. The helmet also features Bluetooth and voice navigation, along with reflective tape. It is both safer and more portable. This invention won first prize at the 34th Zhejiang Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Contest.
Riya was only 14 years old when she invented a new type of cane for people with visual impairment. This cane can sense nearby objects and give voice alerts. It can also detect wet floors, guide the user with vibrations, share their location with family and friends, and it includes an emergency button. So far, this cane has helped millions of people with visual impairment.
