Some people learn a foreign language because they want to communicate with the local people. Some other
people are just curious about foreign cultures. Whatever your reason may be, the best foreign language software
around will certainly help you pick up the language in a few weeks. You will be able to speak fluently and

This software supplies learning material for up to 35 different languages, and it is widely considered as the
best software for learning Spanish as well. It will cost you around $30, and this is a very reasonable price for such a
piece of highly recommended and loved language learning software. The learning courses are highly interactive,
and the ever present speech recognition (语音识别) feature ensures that you are getting the pronunciation right
when you speak.
Kid Speak
This is a kind of foreign language translation software that you can make use of, and it will cost you around
$30. So it is safe to say that the level of performance will be similar to that of Talk Now. This software is designed
more for the use of children for its interesting videos.

Every day as the sun rises, Ma Hongyi, a 66-year-old farmer, can be seen patrolling (巡逻) Yuncheng Salt
Lake with his dog in Yuncheng city, North China’s Shanxi province.
Ma still remembers the day when he first saw two big pink birds walking through the water. “I had never seen
such pretty birds. They were even taller than me, with long wings,” Ma recalls. He was later told that the birds were
flamingos (火烈鸟), which were listed on the International Union for Protection of Nature’s red list of endangered
species in 2013. From that day on, Ma started his second career as a volunteer to prevent human beings from
interfering with the wildlife. “The birds are attracted by the good environment,” Ma says. “I will do my best to
protect the lake so that birds can come here every year.”
Yuncheng Salt Lake covers an area of 132 square kilometres and used to serve as a salt production base. As
the country began paying more attention to environmental protection, an ecological (生 态 的 ) protection and
development centre was set up in 2012 to carry out regular ecological protection and restoration (修复) of the lake.
“The greatest value of the Salt Lake lies in its ecology, which should be properly restored and protected,” says Chu
Xianghao, mayor of the city. The lake area hosts 292 types of wild animals, along with 782 plant varieties, some of
which are newly recorded species in the country.
After patrolling the lake as volunteer for over four years, Ma was paid by the local government to help with
wildlife protection in 2019. “The lake’s ecology is getting better,” Ma says, adding that he looks forward to the
arrival of the flamingos every year. “Some of them are my old friends,” he says.

27. Which word can best describe Ma
A. Responsible. B. Creative. C. Honest. D. Humorous.

After bikes and umbrellas are made sharable across China, some companies started eyeing the fitness market,
so shared gym rooms have hit the streets in Beijing.
Unlike common gyms that provide large, open spaces for many members to share at the same time, the newly
built shared gym rooms are small, separate rooms for a person to use, often set up near living communities.
Every four-square-metre room provides a treadmill (跑步机), an air cleaner, a mirror, a television and an air
conditioner, and users can let down the curtains (窗帘) for privacy. When exercising, users can listen to music,
watch movies and check emails by connecting to the Internet by the screen fixed on the treadmill. But there’s no
shower.
Similar to using a shared bike, users can locate a shared gym room by a smartphone app, book a room in
advance and then need to scan a QR code (二维码) for use. A refundable deposit (可退还的押金) of 99 yuan is
required, and users are charged 1 yuan every 5 minutes.
The shared gym rooms are created by Misspao, a Beijing-based technology company founded in July. Within
several months since it was founded, the company has already raised over 100 million yuan. However, the idea of
the shared fitness experience is not totally new. Last December, the company VRUN set up shared treadmills in
office and apartment buildings.
The sharing economy is still becoming popular in China. According to Yicai Global, confident people are
pouring millions into sharing start-ups. In March, the State Information Centre published a report which says that
the total value of China’s sharing economy will see a yearly growth of 40% in the coming years, and it is expected
to make a great contribution to the country’s GDP.
28. What makes the shared gym room different from the common one
A. Sharing open spaces. B. Providing free training courses.
C. Holding one person at a time. D. Having some advanced equipment.
29. What do people need to do to use the shared gym room
A. Pay 100 yuan first. B. Book a room ahead of time.
C. Have a shower before exercise. D. Let down curtains for privacy.
30. What is the author’s attitude towards China’s sharing economy
A. Doubtful. B. Unclear. C. Worried. D. Positive.
31. What is the author’s purpose in writing the text
A. To introduce shared gym rooms. B. To praise a technology company.
C. To support the idea of sharing gym rooms. D. To tell the future of shared gym rooms.
D
3D printing is becoming more and more popular. We are now able to create things we need very quickly and
easily using 3D printers. But can you imagine printing food
Some scientists are trying to completely change the dining experience by doing this. They hope that having a
3D printer in the kitchen will be as common as the fridge.
Scientists say that it’ll be quite easy: You simply have to choose a recipe (食谱) and put the food “inks” into
the printer. You can also adapt the instructions to make the food exactly how you want it. This means that it would
be very quick and easy to create tasty and healthy meals.
Using 3D printers to create your meals would also be saving the environment. There would be less need for
traditional growing, transporting and packaging processes as food production would be a lot more efficient.
Printing food could also help people who suffer from dysphagia (吞咽困难). They could programme the
printer to print softer foods so that they would not have trouble swallowing (吞咽) them.
However, some people think that a future of 3D food printing would be a disaster. It could take away many
jobs, including those from growing, transporting and packaging food. Imagine a world where there was no need for
farming or growing crops and the same tastes could be printed from a “food ink”. Likewise, traditional cafés and
restaurants might lose business. Also, there are concerns about the nutritional (营养的) value of printed food: Is it
really possible to get the nutrients we need from food-based inks
What’s more, cooking and eating together with family and friends has long been a traditional and enjoyable
activity. It is hard to imagine a world where the pleasure of cooking is dead and meals can be created at the touch
of a button.
32. Why is the question raised in Paragraph 1
A. To list some facts. B. To show the author’s curiosity.
C. To ask readers for their answers. D. To introduce the topic of the text.
33. How does 3D food printing benefit people with dysphagia
A. By printing tasty and healthy meals. B. By cutting down the time spent cooking.
C. By producing food that is easier to swallow. D. By helping put more nutrition into the food.
34. What influence might 3D food printing bring
A. Traditional food would disappear. B. We could all eat the same food.
C. Many people could lose their jobs. D. It would be bad for the people’s health.
35. Which of the following can be the best title for the text
A. 3D Food Printing: Coming to the Kitchen B. 3D Printing Is Able to Create Everything
C. The Disadvantages of 3D Food Printing D. 3D Printing Food Will Soon Be in Fashion

Inventing campfire stories for children is easier than you might think. Use these easy tips for telling campfire
stories that will make children of all ages happy.

When telling campfire stories to children, include a bunch of fun and strange names for the characters. If it is a

Do not use a single voice when telling campfire stories to children. 39 Talk in different tones and use
a different infliction for each character. Alternate (交替) between whispering and talking louder.

Peter woke up early in the morning. He went downstairs in a hurry and started to have his breakfast as quickly
as possible.
“Why are you in such a hurry, early bird ” Mum asked him. “We will have an English spelling test today,
Mum,” Peter said. “Mr. White promised to offer prizes to those who get full marks. I’ve been studying the word list
since last week. Although the words are difficult, I am well prepared for the test.”
Peter reviewed the spelling of each word once more carefully when Dad drove him to school. At last, it was
time for the students to have the test. “Responsibility,” Mr. White started. Peter wrote it on his test paper quickly
and confidently. “The second word: contribution,” Mr. White said. “So easy,” Peter thought. He quickly wrote the
word down. Thirty words later, the test papers were collected by Mr. White.
After marking the test papers, Mr. White said, “Three of you won a prize today for excellent test scores. Peter,
David and Mary scored 100 percent in the spelling test!” Mr. White praised them. Meanwhile, he gave the three
students each a dictionary. Peter’s was an English-Chinese dictionary-the one he liked best. Peter was so excited
that he held it high when his classmates cheered. “This is my happiest moment,” Peter thought.
After Mr. White gave the test paper back, Peter had a look at the words, feeling proud of his spelling. All of a
sudden, the word “contribusion” confused him. It didn’t seem right. Peter began to compare them after taking out
the word list. He had spelled it wrong.
“What should I do ” Peter said to himself. “I expect my classmates to think I’m a master of spelling. If I tell
Mr. White one of my spelling words is wrong, I’ll have to give my prize back.”
Staring at the red sign “100%” which was written on his test paper, Peter was lost in thought. After a while, he
remembered a lesson Mum used to teach him-we ought to be an honest person.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为 150 个左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Slowly, Peter raised his hand.
