This is my hometown. It is on a hill. It has a long history.
My town is not big, but it is beautiful. There are colourful flowers and green grass all year round. My school is in the middle of the town. Behind the school, there is a small river. It snakes its way across the town.
The people here live a simple life. They are friendly and kind. Men and women go farming in the fields during the day and children play in the streets. We all know each other. We are all neighbours. Dogs and hens run here and there. Grandmas sit in a circle under a big tree. They talk and laugh.
The people here grow their own vegetables so they can have fresh and healthy food. People share special food and many other things with each other.

Grammar focus
There be 结构（There be structure）
“there be +主语+状语”表示在某地有某人/物/事。there作为引导词本身无词义，be后的名词是句子的主语，be和后面的名词在数方面保持一致。当主语为多个名词并列时，be的形式一般与邻近的主语保持一致。
e.g. There is a nice big square.
There is a school in the middle of the town.
There are only two streets.
There is a pond near my house.
There are trees and flowers everywhere.
There is a bed and two chairs in the room.
there be句型变为否定句时，在be后面加not；变为疑问句时，将be提到句首，其他词顺序不变，句末用问号。
e.g. There aren’t so many changes.
Are there so many changes (Yes, there are./No, there aren’t.)
在there be句型中，动词be要随时态的变化而变化。
e.g. There were no supermarkets a long time ago.
There are hundreds of people on the square.
There will be a meeting tomorrow morning.
