2005年,上海京剧院排演的京剧版《王子复仇记》,编剧冯钢,导演石玉昆,主演傅希如、郭睿玥、赵欢、陈宇、严庆谷、高明博。
京剧《王子复仇记》删除了多条副线,着重展示哈姆雷特的心理历程,强调矛盾冲突,并保留原著中脍炙人口的独白。全剧以中国化的形式演绎,并原著的背景从丹麦搬到中国古代一个虚拟的“赤诚国”。剧中人物分别以中国姓氏命名:子丹(哈姆雷特)、姜戎(乔德鲁特)、殷缡(奥菲莉亚)、雍叔(克劳狄斯)、殷甫(波洛涅斯)、雍伯(老哈姆雷特)、夏侯牧(霍拉旭)、殷泽(雷欧提斯)。
剧情则保留哈姆雷特复仇的主线和心理变化,剧中关于“生存还是毁灭,这是个问题”等经典独白也未作删改,保持戏剧框架的原貌,为唱、念、做、打提供足够的空间。
该剧以音乐为重要表现手段,依靠京剧传统乐队的配制,力图融合京剧化和多样化的特色,并充分展示各个行当的声腔特点,利用其特长。该剧曾先后赴丹麦哥本哈根、荷兰阿姆斯特丹与海牙、德国科隆与汉堡、西班牙阿玛格罗、法国巴黎等地演出,赢得欧洲观众青睐。
