Shirley: I'm so excited to start school, Amy!
Amy: Congratulations, Shirley. You're a primary school student now! But I'd like to tell you a few school rules. First, it's very important to show respect for your teachers.
Shirley: I understand.
Amy: And you should be kind to your classmates.
Shirley: I will. I can't wait to meet my new classmates!
Amy: Remember, you shouldn't run in the hallways after class. And don't forget to return to class on time.
Shirley: I see. What else
Amy: Don't leave rubbish anywhere. Help keep the school clean.

What good manners do you think we should always have in daily life Give some examples.
1. Say “excuse me” when you need to get past someone or if you bump into them.
2. Knock before entering a room.
3. Put the trash in a bin.
4. Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing.
5. Give your seats to the elderly.
6. Listen to others carefully.
Why is it important to have good manners
Good manners cost nothing, and they go beyond merely opening doors or writing thank-you notes. Being polite means considering how others feel. By practising good manners, we show respect and consideration for the people around us, which makes them feel better—and us, too. Ultimately, good manners help encourage kindness and create a positive environment at both home and school.
Discussion
1. Good manners

Language points
e.g. It is bad manners to talk with your mouth full.
Parents should teach their children table manners.
e.g. She has a calm relaxed manner.
2. Drop litter

3. Leave the tap running
e.g. Don’t leave her waiting outside in the rain.
They all walked out and left me sitting there alone.
+ adj.”。
e.g. You’d better leave the door open.
4. Wait in line patiently.
wait in line 排队等候
patient adj.
