A Proper nouns
What are proper nouns
We use proper nouns to refer to the name of particular people, places, organizations, time periods, etc.
专有名词表示特定的人名、地名、时段、机构或组织名、书名、节日名或者日期名等的专用名称。
What are proper nouns
(1) 指人名:Tom, Tim Smith, Xu Haitao。
(2) 指地名、国名:France, the United Nations, the Great Wall。
(3) 指组织,机构名: the World Trade Organization。
(4) 指星期、月份:Monday, January, October。
(5) 指节日名称:the Spring Festival, National Day。
(6) 指国籍、语言: Chinese, English 。
(7) 指书名、文章名:Oxford English, My Summer Holiday。

How can we use proper nouns correctly
Sum up
the rules
Rule1: A proper noun always starts with a capital letter.
Rule2: We do not usually capitalize the, prepositions and conjunctions in proper nouns.
专有名词总是以大写字母开头。
专有名词中的the、介词及连词通常不大写首字母。

We use the conjunctions (连词) to link two sentences.
They show different relationships between the sentences.
连词是用来连接单词、短语或句子的一种虚词。and, but 和so 属于并列连词,可以用来表示并列、转折、因果关系等。

We use AND to mean ‘also’.
It can also be used to show one thing happens after another.
and 意为 “ 和;又;也”, 表示并列关系;
也可表示先后顺序,一件事在另外一件事之后发生。

We use BUT to show a different idea.

but 意为 “ 但是”, 表示转折关系,所连接的前后部分通常意思相反。
