1. Words are important, but the way people stand, hold their arms, and move their hands can also give us information about their feelings.

知识点一：way后接定语从句的用法
1句中，标黄部分为省略了that的定语从句，修饰先行词the way;
2句中，标黄部分为that引导的定语从句，修饰a way，that在从句中做主语。
知识点一：way后接定语从句的用法
way作 “方式；方法”讲，后接定语从句有以下两种情况：
1.当way后面的从句缺少状语时，定语从句用that/in which 引导，并且that常常被省略；
Eg. I admire the way (that/which) he manages to see both sides of the question.(从句中缺少状语)
2.当way后面的从句缺少主语、宾语时，定语从句用that/which引导；
Eg. Suddenly, I remembered the way(that/which) I had adopted to cope with the question.(从句中缺宾语)
Eg. Some poems describe something in a way that/which will give the reader a strong impression.(从句中缺主语)
做某事的方式方法：way to do sth. / way of doing sth.

2. Being optimistic requires that you find a way analysing negative thoughts and getting rid of them.

知识点二：现在分词的不同用法
1. making eye contact—looking into someone’s eyes—in some countries is a way to display interest.
2. In many countries, shaking one’s head means “no”, and nodding means “yes”.
3. Placing your hands together and resting them on the side of your head while closing your eyes means “sleep”.
Placing your eyes表示一个完整的动作，所以谓语动词用单数。

知识点四：并列成分的处理
1. There are also differences in how we touch each other, how close we stand to someone we are talking to, and how we act when we meet or part.
三个how引导的宾语从句，做介词in 的宾语。and 连接，构成排比，增强语势。
2. Elsewhere, people favour shaking hands, bowing from the waist, or nodding the head when they meet someone else.
三个并列的动名词短语做favour的宾语，连接方式是A, B or C。
3. We can use a smile to apologise, to greet someone, to ask for help, or to start a conversation.
四个并列的目的状语，连接方式是A, B, C or D。
知识点五：否定词＋比较级

否定词+比较级表示最高级含义
基本结构： 否定词+ 形容词或副词的比较级（+than）
常用的否定词：no, not, never, nothing, nobody, hardly 等
一般理解为：再没有比......更......的了；再......不过了
I have never seen a more energetic man.
I couldn’t agree with you more.
Nothing is more precious than health.
can’t/never 与too 连用，表示“再......也不过分”
You can’t be too careful while driving the car.
你开车时再怎么小心也不为过。
知识点六：V.ing做宾语和表语
Experts suggest smiling at yourself in the mirror to make yourself feel happier and stronger.
Perhaps the best example is smiling.
A good way of saying “I am full” is moving your hand in circles over your stomach after a meal.
However, you should avoid making this gesture in Brazil and Germany, as it is not considered polite.
The crucial thing is using body language in a way that is appropriate to the culture you are in.
