Can you imagine a bus stop that only serves one person In Xiangyang, Hubei Province, this comes true.Today, we’re going to share the story of a 15-year-old boy named Shang Zipeng, and the special bus stop just for him. A small stop, but heartfelt (真诚的) kindness.
Shang Zipeng is a teenager with health problems and he studies at a special school. Every morning, he and his mother would take Bus 73 to its final stop. Then, they had to walk 2 more kilometers to reach the school.
The turning point came in 2022. When Bus 73 driver Mei Meng heard about the boy’s story, she decided to help. After all the other passengers got off at the last stop, she would drive the boy another 5minutes to a place near his school, and even helped him meet his teachers. Soon, other drivers joined in this warm act.
In July 2025, the bus company took an even bigger step——they added 4 kilometres to the Bus 73route (路线), just to set up a special bus stop near the boy’s school. This is the city’s first “kindness bus stop”. Now, the boy can get off the bus directly at the school gate, and life has become much easier to him and his mother.
This special bus stop is more than just a stop for a boy. This is the power of kindness——small actions, big changes.

Is the summer vacation long enough to turn life for the better Every person has his own interests. Find something you care about, and you will see the difference.
Organize a clean up program. People often throw litter in the place where there is already litter. This leaves the community in a mess. The environment will become better if someone volunteers to help. You could pick up the rubbish with your friends once a week in your neighbourhood. You could also help take care of the plants every few days. Surely, a clean and tidy neighbourhood will be worth the work.
Show your love for the old. Our city has some old people’s homes. Without children around them, the old people there might feel lonely once in a while. Maybe they need your help. In fact, you can do a lot for them. For example, you can talk with them or play games with them. Listening to them carefully is also a good idea. No matter what small things you do, you can make them feel loved.
Set up a reading project with your friends. Share your favourite books with them. Besides, you may read aloud(大声) to each other and talk about what you read. Either a book or an article can spark a lively discussion(讨论) and your further thinking. The process often challenges more people to take action.

A lot of people take up dancing as a hobby after work. In fact, dancing has been seen as one of the best exercises to fight bad feelings in recent years.
Why is dancing so helpful Dancing, moving the body to different kinds of music, helps the body produce more endorphin (内啡肽), a chemical (化学物质) that makes people feel relaxed and happy.
While simply listening to music or doing sports can cheer us up, mixing them together has a stronger effect. In a study, German scientists tested some patients under three conditions: dancing to music, only listening to music, and riding bikes without music. The results showed that the dancing group felt the least sad. This tells us that dancing is more than just moving around—it truly lifts our spirits.
Dancing can also bring people closer. Social dances like tango and Latin need us to move with others, which improves our sense of social connection according to IBSA, a Swiss scientific organization. Through eye contact, people feel more trust and closeness.
▲ Studies show that depression (抑郁症) often has to do with sadness about the past or worries about the future. Dancing helps people focus on the present, connect with their bodies, and free their minds for a while, as reported by Psych Central, a mental health news website. When we dance, we stop overthinking and start feeling. This makes it an excellent way to enjoy the present moment without even trying.
Lauren Helper, an American social worker, says dancing is a helpful way to reduce stress. It can be any form—whether it’s moving alone around the house to a song or going out dancing with friends. “The most important thing is that the movement is fun. You don’t need to be a perfect dancer. Just turn on some music, move your body, and enjoy the moment. That’s the real magic of dance.” she told Psych Central.
24.What can help you the most when you are sad according to the study
A.Attending a concert. B.Talking to a friend. C.Dancing to music. D.Riding a bike.

A.To kill time. B.To learn new skills. C.To make more friends. D.To fight against bad feelings.

27.What is the correct structure of the passage
A.B.C.D.
28.Which of the following can be the best title for the passage

Have you ever been to a meeting where the person speaking is obviously not happy with what they’re saying Maybe they’re telling you about a new product, but their body language tells you that they don’t believe in it. Or maybe they’re trying to make you believe something, but their body language makes them look unsure or even dishonest.
Body language—the way we move, use our hands and face, and the expressions on our faces—is an important part of how we communicate with others. In fact, some experts say that it’s more important than the words we use. It can tell people what we really think, even if we’re not saying it out loud.
So what does our body language say about us Here are five things to look out for:
Eye contact: In many countries, good eye contact shows that you’re interested and paying attention. But too much eye contact can be aggressive, while too little can make you seem bored or untrustworthy.
Smiling: In most cultures, smiling shows that you’re friendly. But there are different kinds of smiles. A big smile with your eyes open wide shows happiness and friendliness. A small smile with your mouth closed shows politeness, but not necessarily happiness.
Gestures: The way we use our hands can help explain what we’re saying. For example, if you’re talking about a tall building, you might use your hand to show how tall it is. But gestures can also be impolite, especially if you use them too much or too close to someone else’s face.
Posture: The way we sit or stand can show how confident we are. For example, standing up straight with your shoulders back shows confidence, while crossing your arms can make you seem uninterested or defensive.
Touch: Touching someone can show that you like or trust them, but it can also be a way of showing power. For example, if someone puts their hand on your shoulder, they’re showing that they’re in charge.
Next time you’re in a meeting, try to notice what the other people are saying with their bodies. Are they telling you the same thing as their words

As we often use eyes to touch nature, most of us “lose” the ability to listen to the world.
Peter writes music. He likes sounds and uses natural sounds as part of his music. He often went out to the wild with his microphone and recorded interesting sounds to put in movies or to use in his own songs. Instead of trying to catch just the sound of one animal or bird, he recorded the sound of everything all together—the animals, the trees, the wind and the earth. He called these recordings “soundscapes”—the sound of a certain place. Every soundscape Peter recorded had a lot of information.
Back in his workshop, Peter used a computer to make a picture of all the sounds going on in a place. Each animal, bird and insect had its own place on the picture—its own notes in the music. The busier the picture, the richer the life in that place. “While a picture may be worth 1,000 words, a soundscape is worth 1,000 pictures,” Peter said. “Our ears tell us the sound of every leaf and animal and speak to the natural source (来源) of our lives, which may hold the secrets of love for all things, especially our own humanity.”
But not everything is satisfying (令人满意的). When Peter began recording over forty years ago, he could record for ten hours and get one hour of usable material (素材) good enough for a movie. Now, because of human activities, it can take up to 1,000 hours or more to get the same thing. Some of the places he has recorded over the years have slowly fallen silent. His sound pictures show that although nature might look the same to humans, it has lost part of its orchestra (管弦乐队).
So next time you are in the forests, try another way to look—shut your eyes, and listen.

C.Some beautiful sounds in nature are lost. D.Human activities improve recording results.
37.What does the writer mainly want to tell us
A.Nature is the source of our future. B.Nature has wonders to be heard.
C.Making music enriches our lives. D.Making music needs information.
①Zigong, in Sichuan Province, is home to Chinese lanterns. Zigong lantern is known as the best lantern in the world. The Zigong Lantern Festival dates back to the Tang Dynasty. The festival has rapidly developed with traditional culture and modern technologies. In 2008, the Zigong Lantern Festival was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage (国家级非物质文化遗产), becoming a shining name card for Chinese culture to go out into the world.
② “Making a huge lantern for exhibition requires 17 steps,” said Wan Songtao, an inheritor (传承人) of Zigong lantern-making. “Each step is finished by a team instead of a single maker.” Wan added. The sundial (日晷), a kind of lantern, made by Wan’s team, for example, took about 80 makers over 50 days to complete the whole process. In many cases, you may find yourself or somebody faking (假笑) a smile in photos. Why can one easily discover a fake smile and why does it seem so difficult to give a real smile in photos
Scientists have found that a real smile is featured by two main muscle (肌肉) movements. When we smile, we lift our mouth upwards and cause the skin around our eyes to gather into folds. These muscle movements are usually absent in the case of a forced smile, especially when the smile is small. Our brains are highly skilled at telling the differences in muscle movements. That’s why though trying to fake a real smile can be hard, discovering it on someone else is a piece of cake.
One of the most common reasons why you look unnatural in photos is an increased awareness of your appearance. The worry about posture, hair, and makeup can add to the stress, killing the chances of a real smile. A smile looks best when it comes naturally. Warm and welcoming smiles come along with warm and welcoming body language, but when you’re in front of the camera, trying too hard to perform can make your body language appear stiff (僵硬的) and far from welcoming.
Besides, facial expressions are not always understood in the same way. A smile can mean different things in different cultures. For example, a wide smile that seems welcoming to some may appear fake and dishonest. This may also influence how people feel about your smile in photos.
However, we shouldn’t let this trouble us too much. So, if you want to smile naturally before the camera, perhaps the simplest trick is to give your brain a real reason to feel happy.
Maybe recall a joyful moment or just think back to a funny story you read… that should work!

Here are some tips on how to use cartoons and comic strips to help you learn English:

Listen to the characters and repeat what they say. Try to copy their pronunciation and intonation. This will help you improve your speaking and your understanding of spoken English.
4. Learn whole sentences
Don’t just learn the new words. Try to learn whole sentences or phrases. For example, instead of learning the word “cool”, learn the phrase “That’s so cool!” Remember to use the correct intonation when you say it.
5. Read the comics
Reading the comics in newspapers or magazines is a fun way to learn English. Many newspapers have an online version with activities, such as quizzes and games, so you can learn even more.

Create your own comic strip with speech bubbles. Use your imagination and draw the characters doing different things. Then write what they say. Show your comic strip to your friends and see if they understand it. You may find it a lot of fun!

Chinese animation has a history of over 100 years, mixing traditional art and modern technology. In 1958, Pigsy Eats Watermelon became the first paper-cut animation, making characters move like real shadow puppets. Two years later, Baby Tadpoles Look for Their Mother appeared as the first ink-wash animated film, inspired by artist Qi Baishi’s works. It won many awards for its traditional art style.
Ancient Chinese stories are popular in animation. Havoc in Heaven (1961) tells the Monkey King’s story and is one of the most famous Chinese animated films. It blends Chinese painting with Beijing opera sound effects.
