On January 28, 2025, a special performance called YangBOT amazed audiences at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala China’s most watched TV show. Directed by famous filmmaker Zhang Yimou, the show mixed traditional Chinese Yangko dance with modern robot technology.
In the performance, humanoid robots (robots shaped like humans) dressed in colorful costumes danced Yangko, a joyful folk dance from northern China often seen during festival. They spun handkerchiefs instantly and formed a creative group pattern. These robots were developed by Unitree (宇树科技), a Chinese robotics company. The robots learned dance moves through AI and used laser navigation to move safely on the uneven stage, their strong joints (like knees with 360 N·m power) helped them balance perfectly during fast steps. Zhang Yimou explained, “These innovations aren’t just for fun—it shows how technology can bring new life to traditions.”
Thanks to these innovations, the robots won the hearts of millions. On social media, topics like “Robots Yangko” trended quickly. Young viewers called it “cool” while older audiences loved its humor and festive spirit.

There are 706 billion LEGO bricks (积木) on the earth, 7 LEGO sets are sold every second, and more than 400 million people have played with LEGO bricks. LEGO has already been a successful company in the world. Actually, there are many ups and downs along with its development.
Start from woods
The LEGO company was set up in 1934. The name comes from the Swedish “leg godt”, meaning “to play well”. Ole Kirk Kristiansen, the founder (创立者) of LEGO, was a master carpenter (木匠大师), so it’s not surprising that the first LEGO toys were made of wood. They were simple, such as wooden ducks. In 1942, the factory that made wooden LEGO toys was burned to the ground (被烧成灰烬), which made Ole realize the disadvantages of working with wood.
Success—brick by brick
Soon Ole found out that plastic is a good material to make toys. LEGO started making self-locking bricks in 1949. But it wasn't until 1958, when the locking design was much improved, that sales began to rise. Because of its quality and the endless creativity that it lets children have, LEGO achieved a huge success.
Overcome difficulties
In 2000, children began to spend more time playing video games. By 2003, LEGO’s sales were down by 30%, and LEGO nearly went broke. The turning point appeared in 2004 when LEGO focused again on its bricks. And it also worked with films and television, like Star Wars. The Internet was used to build a LEGO group where fans show their love for LEGO collections. In 2015, it again became a name known to the world.
37.What can we learn from the numbers in Paragraph 1
A.LEGO has a long history. B.LEGO has achieved a huge success.
C.LEGO is the best company. D.LEGO is going to have a bright future.
38.What does the underlined word “they” in Paragraph 2 refer to

Born in Cervera, Spain, in 1995, Marquez asked his parents for a bike before he turned 4 years old. In 2013, he started his MotoGP journey and won a world championship in his first season. Between 2014 and 2019, he was at the top of the sport, winning five out of six championships.
At 1.68 meters tall, Marquez got the nickname (绰号) “the Ant of Cervera”. This was due to his small size but amazing ability to control a 160-kilogram motorcycle at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour.
