As a young piano player and an 8th-grader, Toby has always been curious about the effects of music on people. He has done many tests on this. When he learned that people find it hard to focus, he wondered, "Could music help us improve attention?"
This 14-year-old boy started to search online for the effects of different kinds of music. He wanted to find out if listening to certain kinds of sounds could make people more focused. He then started an online test. He asked 65 people to play a computer game-they had to press a key when they saw certain numbers. Those people were divided into three groups. During the game, one group played in silence. Another group listened to a song from a video game. The third group heard a different tone(音调) in each ear, which created a special beating sound.
After the test, Toby compared the results. He found that the group with the special two-tone sound did the best. The group with the video game music did the worst. Although the results weren't strong enough to be completely sure, Toby didn't see that as a failure. For him, it was a starting point for more learning. "If you try something and it doesn't work, that's not a problem, "he said. "It's part of the study process. "

What season is it in October If you a (1) people from the UK, they will tell you it’s “autumn”. But if you go to the US, you will find that people use b (2) “autumn” and “the fall”. Why does this season have two names in English
These two sayings have been around for a long time, but neither of them was the f (3) to describe this season. D (4) this season, crops would become ripe and farmers would have a big harvest. So in Old English, this season was simply called “harvest”.
Then, in the 1600s, more people left their farms and moved to cities. With f (5) people farming, the word “harvest” became less useful. English speakers needed a d (6) name for the season. They knew l (7) fell from trees during the season, so people started calling it “the fall of the leaf”, or “the fall” for short.
But near the e (8) of the 1600s, autumn, from the French word “automne” and the Latin “autumnus”, came to England. It gradually replaced(代替) “the fall” as the word for this season.
At the s (9) time, British people were making their first trips to North America. They brought the two sayings “the fall” and “autumn” with them. That’s w (10) today’s Americans have two names for one season.

64.【答案】The Most Beautiful Season in Yancheng
Yancheng is famous as the “City of Wetlands and Cranes”. In my opinion, autumn is the most beautiful season here.
The weather is cool and very comfortable. It is the best time to visit the Nature Reserve. Visitors can enjoy amazing views of wetlands and see many red-crowned cranes there.
If you come in autumn, you should prepare a jacket because it is a bit cold at night. Most importantly, please remember not to litter. Welcome to Yancheng for a truly great holiday!
