A Using it as an empty subject(1)
When the subject of a sentence is a long infinitive expression, we usually start the sentence with the empty subject it and put the infinitive expression at the end.
Read the passage about protecting animals in danger. Pay attention to the sentences in bold. Explain what it refers to in each of the sentences in bold.
There are more and more people on this planet, and this is harming the
environment. It is not easy for many animal species to survive. I once watched a video about illegal hunting. In the video, some hunters killed a tiger. It was very cruel of them to do so. What is worse, those people also make a lot of money from this. I think it is wrong of them to sell products made from animals in danger. It is important for us to protect nature. My friend and I have joined a local environmental group. This weekend, we will collect money for a wildlife charity. My uncle has offered to drive us to the event. It is very kind of him to help!
·We use for when the adjective mainly modifies the verb.
·We use of when the adjective mainly describes the person.
It is important for us to protect giant pandas.
It’s impossible for us to get along with her.
=To get along with her is impossible.

真正的主语
语法讲解
（1）在句型“It is + adj. + for + n. / pron. + to + v.”中，it 是形式主语，不 定式是真正的主语。
It is important for us to learn English well.
“It is + adjective + for + noun/pronoun + to + verb”句型中，形容词通常是描述事物的，修饰的对象是动词不定式。这个句型往往用于表达对某人如果做某件事情的看法，说话时这个动作可能并未完成。
It is very nice of you to lend me an umbrella.
“It is + adjective + of + noun/pronoun + to + verb”句型中，形容词多是描述人物的性格、品质的形容词，修饰的对象是句子的逻辑主语，即of后的名词或代词。而且，在说这句话之前，句中的那个动作通常都已经完成。
1.It’s very dangerous for children to cross the busy road by themselves.
对孩子们来说，独自穿过繁忙的马路很危险。
=To cross the busy street by themselves is very dangerous for children.
2.It’s difficult for us to finish the work.
对我们来说，完成这项工作很困难。
=To finish the work is difficult for us.

“某人做了某事，他/她是……”
It is cruel of human to kill pandas.
It is kind of you to try to save the dog.
1.表示褒贬义的形容词有 polite, brave, foolish, stupid, clever, careless等。
2.表示心情、心地善良或卑劣等的有：nice, kind, good, friendly, generous, thoughtful, unkind, naughty等。
表示人的属性的形容词:
B Using adjective +enough +to +verb
The elephant is now strong enough to walk.
B adj. + enough + to + v.
句型“somebody / something + be + adj. + enough to do something”意思是“某人或某物足够……，可以做某事”。注意enough放在形容词后面，表示达到必要的程度。如：
He is strong enough to lift the big stone. 他强壮得足以举起这块大石头。
The room is not big enough to hold 20 people. 这个房间不够大,容纳不了20人
拓展：此句型的否定形式可与too... to... (太……以致于不能……), so... that... (太……以致于……)句型互相转换。如：
The room is too small to hold 20 people.
The room is so small that it cannot hold 20 people.
这个房间太小，容纳不了20人。
