Born in Texas, Spud was much smaller than the other kids at school. However, he dreamed of playing in the NBA.

In May 2024, 15-year-old Alkut Dilxat became the youngest Chinese climber to reach the top of Mount Qomolangma. The boy is from Urumqi, Xinjiang.
