when引导的时间状语从句
1. 用法
when意为“当……的时候”,引导的时间状语从句的动作和主句的动作可以
是同时发生,也可以是先后发生。when既可以指时间点,也可以指时间段。

2. 主从句的时态

while引导的时间状语从句
1. while引导时间状语从句时,意思是“当……时”,谓语动词必须是延续性
动词,须用进行时态。
2. while若出现在过去进行时的句子中,结构一般是“while+含有过去进行
时/一般过去时的句子”。当主句与从句的动作同时进行时,多用while。
(1)I was shopping while the UFO landed.当不明飞行物降落的时候,我
正在购物。
(2)They were singing while we were dancing.他们在唱歌,我们在跳舞。
【拓展】when和while的区别
when引导的时间状语从句中,谓
动词可以是非延续性动词,也可
以是延续性动词。 When the teacher came in, we were
talking.当老师进来时,我们正在谈话。
(came in 是非延续性动词短语)
When you called me, I was out.你给我
打电话时,我在外面。(came为延续性
动词)
while引导的时间状语从句中,谓
语动词必须是延续性动词。 While I was doing my homework, my
mum came in.当我正在做家庭作业时,
我妈妈进来了。(do为延续性动词)
当主句和从句的动作都是延续性
或同时发生时(如主从句都用过
去进行时),多用while引导 I was reading a book while my sister was
watching TV. 我在读书时我妹妹正在看
电视。
as引导的时间状语从句
as引导时间状语从句,表示“当……时”或“一边……一边”, 主从句的动
作同时发生。
As the children walked along the lake, they sang happily.孩子们一边沿
着湖走,一边愉快地唱歌。
before引导的时间状语从句
before引导的时间状语从句通常表示主句的动作发生在从句的动作之前。
He had studied in this school before he joined the army.参军之前,他在这
所学校学习过。
after引导的时间状语从句
after引导的时间状语从句表示此时主句的动作发生在从句的动作之后。
After he locked the door, he left.他锁上门后离开了。
【注意】after引导的时间状语从句的主语与主句的主语常为相同的人或物,
如果主句的动作发生在从 句之后,可以转换为not...until(before)引导的时
间状语从句。
He left the classroom after he finished his homework.
→He didn’t leave the classroom until (before) he finished his homework.他
完成作业后才离开教室。
until(till)引导的时间状语从句
1. until表示“直到……”时,主从句都是肯定句,主句的谓语动词为延续性
动词,此时until等同于till。
They worked until(till) it was dark.他们一直工作到天黑。
2. until表示“直到……才……”时,主句用否定句,从句用肯定句,主句中
的谓语动词为非延续性动词。
I didn’t go to bed until she came back.直到她回来我才睡觉。
【注意】until与till通常可以交换使用,但如果从句位于句首,只能使用
until。
Until he went there, he didn’t know that.直到他到那儿,他才知道那件
事。
as soon as引导的时间状语从句
as soon as意思是“一……就……”,当主句是一般将来时时,从句要用一般
现在时。
He will return the book as soon as he finishes it.他一看完这本书就去归
还。
since引导的时间状语从句
since意思是“从……以来”,它引导的从句中的谓语动词多用过去式,主句
表示动作的延续,用现在完成时。 如果主句中的动作表示的不是延续性动
作,而是目前的状态,主句可用一般现在时。
(1)I haven’t heard from my friend since I went to Dalian.自从我去了大
连,我就没有收到朋友的来信。
(2)It is ten years since she left here.从她离开这儿后,已经10年了。
