As I describe in my book Experiential Intelligence, experience is one of the most powerful things that shapes us, from the moment we’re born. Experience is about personal growth. Every failure, success, and challenge influence our future decisions. AI, on the other hand, doesn’t have experience—it has data. It doesn’t learn from pain, joy, failure, or success like humans.
Humans make choices while AI follows rules. We change our minds, and do things that don’t always make sense. But AI always follows its programming. It doesn’t have independent thought.
The biggest difference We are aware of ourselves. AI can recognize itself as AI, but it doesn’t have self-awareness. It doesn’t question its purpose, or wonder about what comes next. Scientists don’t fully understand why humans have self-awareness. But they think that it makes us human.
As AI continues to develop, the most important thing you can do is not to compete with it, but to lead it. Instead of fearing it, learn to make it your teammate.
