Fashion inspired by traditional Chinese culture is experiencing revived global interest, with designers and their collections increasingly impressing fashion show audiences. At China-France Fashion Week, held at the China Cultural Centre in Paris, designers showed 30 outfits (服装), each presenting the cultural heritage of Quanzhou, a coastal city in East China’s Fujian Province, which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021.
“The event promoted a dialogue between tradition and modernity, Eastern and Western aesthetics (美学),” said designer Meng Yueming, 33. Borrowing elements (元素) of the city’s heritage, including zanhua, the traditional dress of Hui’an women, local tea culture, and architecture, Meng mixed traditional and modern elements into his designs.
Describing the show as “fantastic”, Isabelle Lawson, executive director of the French International Art Salon, said it was a “brilliant” idea for the designers to transform Quanzhou’s landmarks and architecture into the designs.
The week was designed to deepen China-France cultural exchange and strengthen cooperation in the cultural and creative industries between China and France.
“Before this show, my understanding of traditional culture was superficial, but when I dug deeper, I found a treasure in front of me to explore,” Meng said, adding that he felt that using Chinese elements is important for native designers and companies to go global.
Meng’s experience highlights how an increasing number of designers are drawing on their heritage and cultural traditions while celebrating their own cultural identity. For Meng, it is a good time for Chinese designers to find their voice on the global stage, and to show how rich and graceful Chinese fashion can be today.

Human beings’ curiosity about outer space hasn’t declined in the past decade, and with Jeff Bezos’ historic commercial flight to the edge of space this past summer, dreamers are that much closer to experiencing the Galaxy (银河系) for themselves.
It’s reported that one company is aiming to make space a reality for people, and is pioneering a new age of space tourism. In 2019, the California-based company Gateway Foundation first explored the idea. Its dream was to make visiting space, in excellent accommodation, a future vacation choice. The project, now called Voyager Station, is run by Orbital Assembly Corporation, a construction company led by head of the Gateway Foundation and former pilot, John Blincow.
Space tourism draws closer as Orbital Assembly Corporation has announced plans to build the world’s first to space hotel named “Voyager Station”, which is expected to open in 2027. With a date in close sight, the hotel’s architects and engineers are hard at work, aiming to design an out-of-this-world experience. They plan to decorate the suites with elegant bars and restaurants with a touch of space, as well as Earth-viewing lounges (休息处) and unique space food treats. The team is also taking advantage of the reduced gravity that will be felt in the station to plan to let their guests weightlessly carry heavy objects, jump higher or run faster in ways people can’t normally do on Earth.
Gravity will remain in the rooms and bars though because Voyager Station’s scientific design makes it possible by creating artificial gravity within the hotel. The hotel is designed as a wheel that will steadily move and create simulated (模拟的) gravitational force, much like when a glass of water is spun around, the water doesn’t pour out. The hotel’s guests won’t feel much different than being on a huge ship steadily moving.

A. Time for Space Travel

Every great idea begins with a spark (火花) of realisation—and for Snehha Naarsaria, an accountant and a mum in Portugal, that spark came from her own home.
Financial literacy (素养) is no longer a skill reserved for adults; it is becoming a fundamental part of a child’s education. But teaching financial concepts to a child turned out to be harder than Snehha Naarsaria had expected. There were no engaging tools, no reliable resources, and no clear way to introduce these essential skills to a young mind. This disconnection between knowledge and application struck her deeply and that was when the idea for Fin Free Kid was born.
Fin Free Kid is an innovative initiative that equips children with essential money management skills through appealing books, flashcards, DIY kits, posters, and an immersive (沉浸式的) course. It offers comprehensive learning resources which cover different aspects of financial literacy. The resources aren’t just about teaching—they’re about empowering kids to think independently, make informed decisions, and develop habits that will serve them for life.
With a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction, the programme has earned widespread praise for its exceptional service and transformative impact on young learners. Parents have reported a noticeable shift in their children’s attitudes and behaviours after using Fin Free Kid’s products. Many children have developed the habit of saving money and learnt to make more thoughtful spending choices. A feature in The Economic Times described Fin Free Kid as “a pioneer in financial education for kids, bridging the gap in a crucial area of learning”.
With its growing popularity and the trust of parents across Portugal, Fin Free Kid plans to introduce advanced resources for older children and expand its partnerships with schools to integrate financial literacy into courses. “Our mission is to ensure that every child has the tools and knowledge to deal with the complexities of the financial world, ” says Snehha Naarsaria, “The changes we’ve seen in children so far are just the beginning. Together, we’re building financially literate generations.”
( )32. What contributed to Snehha’s creating Fin Free Kid

B. Lack of access to financial education.
C. Her success as a professional accountant.
D. Children’s urge to learn financial concepts.

A. Academic theories.
B. Integrative competence.

B. To illustrate the means of financial education.
C. To compare Fin Free Kid with other programmes.

What sort of decisions we make determines who we really are. Living with integrity feels good, and once we get better at it, our careers and personal lives can develop better.
What does integrity actually mean Integrity is the ability to live your life depending on your own ethics (道德标准) and morals. 36 Besides that, you must also know what you intend to do with your life and what your purpose is.
Here are a few approaches to developing and maintaining integrity!
Identify your values clearly.
The first step to developing your integrity is to identify your values. Every person has a set of values that they live by. You must acknowledge them as you go further in life. 37
Assess each and every choice.
38 Practising integrity means making the right decision no matter what. Some seemingly right decisions that we make in life could be incredibly terrible for some. Honesty and integrity aren’t something that you must practise when it is convenient for you. You must always be like that whatever the circumstances are.
 39
Always find ways to employ your ethics and morals in everyday life. We learn so many great things in childhood, some of which are habits that we follow for our whole life. Practising integrity is just like that, you would just be practising your everyday life but with more analysis.
Integrity not merely involves consistency. 40 We must not always do what comes naturally to us because it is our nature to stay away from difficulties. We must find the courage within ourselves to face all the difficulties in life, only then will we become successful.
A. Employ your ethics in the real situation.
B. Sometimes we have to face the unavoidable.
C. Always remember that your choices define you ultimately.
D. Sometimes we need to decide what we want to achieve in life.
E. To have integrity, you must clearly know what is right and wrong.
F. No matter what happens, you will never go against your core values.
G. There are circumstances where it is difficult to distinguish right and wrong.

第二节 读后续写(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
A week before Halloween, my young children wild with great happiness were walking and running around our home in their Halloween costumes. Just then the babysitter called, telling me that she was extremely sorry for asking for a day off. I knew that emergencies did occur, and I told her that I completely understood. But what was actually going through my mind was feelings of frustration and self-pity. And I had to pack my three kids into the car, and then drove to the hospital.
On the way, numerous things flooded into my mind, and I especially thought about how life should be going. I was thirty years old, a mother of three girls—five-year-old twins and a one-year-old baby. At this moment, I should be playing with them in the park or visiting the library together. But I was, once again, going to see the doctor. It had been a year since I was diagnosed with cancer. I knew that I was one of the lucky ones. I was grateful that surgery and chemotherapy (化疗) were over, and this was just a routine blood test. As always, there was the remaining fear that the cancer would come back. To be honest, my family and friends were great during the past year when I was in bad condition, but they were also busy with their lives. Therefore, I did not want to burden them with my feelings of unhappiness. What I just wanted to see was the positive things in life and I really wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to them.
When we finally arrived, we sat in a crowded waiting room. Nothing special occurred until my youngest daughter, dressed up as an angel, walked up to a woman who was in a wheelchair and accompanied by her caregiver. My daughter looked at the woman and pointed to the vending (售货) machine next to her, saying sweetly, “Tweet.” This was how she said “Trick or Treat”, which had been coached previously by her twin sisters.

M: I’d like to check out. My name is Neil Green. I stayed in Room 124.
W: Just a moment, please, Mr Green. Sorry to have kept you waiting. Here’s your bill. The total is 950 yuan.
M: 950 yuan! Is there a mistake
W: Please check the bill carefully and see if there’s any mistake.
M: Of course, I’ll check it. The room is 150 yuan per day. I stayed for 3 days. The car is rented by the day. The charge is 200 yuan per day. I used it for 2 days. I just drove to the shopping mall and the beach.
W: In any case, you’re expected to pay for extra hours and miles. I understand that you rented the car by the day, but last night you went to a concert, which means an extra charge of 100 yuan.
M: Your car charge is much higher than I imagined.

W: Hi, Jim. I heard that you just moved to a new place.
M: Yes, I just moved in last week. You know, I’d been in an old apartment for three years. I was tired of it. The new apartment is cheaper, though it’s a little far from my office.
W: I see. That’s OK though.
M: It has a balcony and an air conditioner. It’s perfect, except for my new roommate.
W: What happened
M: You know, my work is tiring and I really want to go to bed early, while he stays up very late every night, making loud noises. He often chats online until midnight, and sometimes he even does the laundry at midnight.
W: Why don’t you talk to him
M: I tried, but it didn’t work. He doesn’t pay any attention to my words. I’ve complained to the landlord, but he hasn’t done anything about it.
W: If nothing else can be done, you’d better find another place.
M: Yeah. But I love this apartment. I would rather find another solution.

A. To prevent liquid from pouring.

( B )32. What contributed to Snehha’s creating Fin Free Kid
A. Rising concern about overspending.
B. Lack of access to financial education.
C. Her success as a professional accountant.
D. Children’s urge to learn financial concepts.
( B )33. In what aspect can children benefit from Fin Free Kid
A. Academic theories.
B. Integrative competence.
C. Reading techniques.
D. Communication ability.

B. To illustrate the means of financial education.

36. E 37. F 38. C

60. has become 【解析】 考查动词的时态和主谓一致。根据上文中的“Since its launch in 1995”可知,此处应用现在完成时;又因主语the lantern festival表达单数概念,助动词应用has,故填has become。

The Chain of Kindness
Dear fellow students,
I am Li Hua, a student of Senior 1, feeling greatly privileged to be here to share my understanding of the act of kindness and its significance in our lives.
To me, a good deed is not just an act of kindness but a reflection of one’s character and a simple gesture that has a profound impact on others. Last year, I encountered a senior citizen struggling to carry her groceries. Without hesitation, I offered to help her. Her grateful smile and heartfelt thanks left a lasting impression on me, reminding me that even the smallest acts of kindness can bring immense happiness to others.
I sincerely hope that everyone can recognise the power of morals and virtues and embody them in action.
That’s all, thank you!
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好。
Paragraph 1:
Surprisingly, the woman, a complete stranger to us, knew exactly what my daughter meant. She asked her caregiver to take her to the vending machine. Using her trembling right hand, the woman put enough money into the machine, and then handed each of my girls a treat. This act caused a series of acts of purchasing things on the vending machine. Soon, many people waiting for doctors had a candy bar or a bag of chips ready for the “Trick or Treat”. My kids were delighted at their good fortune.
Paragraph 2:
My daughters thanked everyone who gave them treats. They were very happy, smiling, singing and dancing in the waiting room. When seeing this, everyone in the room was smiling with satisfaction. Gradually, laughter and happiness filled all the corners of the room. I was touched by the scene. Facing unknown health problems, these strangers still thought of giving my three little daughters some Halloween fun. I realised how kind and generous these people were, and I felt extremely grateful to those Halloween heroes.
