一、阅读理解
Shi Guangyin is a farmer in Dingbian, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province. Dingbian lies on the side of the Maowusu Desert. In the past, sandstorms often destroyed houses and crops. Many local people had to leave their hometown.
In the 1970s, when the government called on people to green the desert, Shi decided to plant trees. To raise money to buy young trees, he sold nearly all the things in his home. He also encouraged many people to plant trees for a greener future. However, it wasn’t an easy thing. Only one tenth of the young trees that they had planted were alive at first. Some people felt disappointed and lost heart. But Shi said he would never give up.
The following years, Shi made several trips to ask for suggestions of experts in other places. He also led the villagers to try new ways to take care of the young trees. Finally, his hard work paid off. More than 80% of trees grew well. The yellow desert began changing into green forests. They’ve finally built a “Green Great Wall” of over 50 kilometers in the desert. People always kindly call Shi “Uncle in the Desert”. Now, the forest coverage in Dingbian has risen from 3.8% in 1980 to 33.5% today.
“We plan to improve forest quality in the next five years,” Shi said, “We’ll see a more beautiful and greener countryside.”

Have you ever imagined that there will exist an air taxi in which you can fly over the city without a pilot By the great vehicle, you can travel from place to place in a short time. It sounds like science fiction, right Well, let’s explore this exciting transport together.
An electric vertical (垂直的) take-off and landing aircraft, also known as an air taxi, completed its first inter-city flight in Guangdong on Feb. 27. The eVTOL aircraft initiated its journey from Shenzhen to Zhuhai, finishing the 55-kilometer trip in around 20 minutes. The flight is a significant development of this amazing new form of transport.
Air taxis employ high technology to take off and land vertically like a helicopter, which doesn’t require long runways. Instead of using traditional combustion engines, air taxis use electric motors. These air taxis have propellers placed all over them to help them keep balanced. They also use lithium-ion batteries to store electricity, allowing them to fly far and fast. With a central command center that keeps a close eye on the flight, some of them can fly without a pilot.
There is no doubt that air taxis can help improve heavy traffic, with their direct point-to-point travel saving precious time for urban people. Except for this merit, as an environmentally friendly choice, air taxis produce fewer emissions than traditional cars, improving urban air quality.
However, air taxis also need special places to take off and land, which means they need eVTOL airports called “vertiports”. Now researchers are trying to take full advantage of the existing (现有的) small airports to function as “vertiports”. And with plans to fly at low altitudes in cities, there’s still much work to be done to make everyone safe.
5.How does the writer begin the passage
A.To start a science fiction. B.To arouse the readers’ interest. C.To show the author’s imagination.

A.advantage. B.choice. C.question.
7.What may researchers focus on in the next step according to the last paragraph
A.How to build more new airports for air taxis.
B.How to improve urban air quality.
C.How to fly at low altitudes more safely.
8.What can we infer from the passage
A.The aircraft will be applied in more cities of China.
B.The aircraft will be applied in big cities of China.
C.The aircraft will be applied in Guangdong.
Raw milk (生牛奶, 未杀菌的牛奶) , hailed by some as a natural and nutritious (营养丰富的) alternative to pasteurized dairy (乳制品) , may come with hidden dangers. The research, published Dec. 12 in Environmental Science & Technology Letters, reveals that influenza or flu virus can remain infectious (具有传染性的) in refrigerated raw milk for up to five days. “This work highlights the potential risk of avian influenza (禽流感) transmission (传播) through consumption of raw milk and the importance of milk pasteurization,” said study senior author Alexandria Boehm, the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Professor of Environmental Studies in the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability and the Stanford School of Engineering.
More than 14 million Americans consume (饮用) raw milk annually. Unlike pasteurized milk, raw milk is not heated to kill potentially harmful pathogens (病原体) . Proponents (支持者) of raw milk claim that it leaves more beneficial nutrients (营养物质) , enzymes, and probiotics than in pasteurized milk, and can boost (促进) immune and gastrointestinal health.
The Food and Drug Administration has tied raw milk to over 200 outbreaks of illnesses, and together with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns that germs, such as E. coli (大肠杆菌) and Salmonella (沙门氏菌) , in raw milk present “serious” health risks, especially for children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems.
