中国短剧火到国外
On the subway， by the bus stop and even on the way， we often see
people watching micro-dramas on their phone screens. These dramas have
been on the rise over the past few years. In 2023， micro-dramas made 37.39
billion yuan， equal to 70 percent of the money made by China’s film
industry， reported China Daily.
Chinese micro-dramas are also gaining popularity around the world.
Sensor Tower， a US company， said over 40 apps for watching the dramas
have entered the global market. By early 2024， these apps already had around
55 million downloads.
“International viewers find these micro-dramas exciting to watch，”
reported Xinhua. The stories are usually kinds of “instant fun”， and have
many surprising turning points. “This keeps people’s attention and makes
them continue watching，” Li Hong， head of an app， told Xinhua.
The short length of the dramas adds to their popularity. Each episode(集)
usually lasts for less than two minutes. People can finish a micro-drama in
short periods of time. Also， most micro-dramas are filmed vertically(垂直
地). This allows people to watch them without having to turn their phone
screens.
However， one challenge to be addressed is that many of them have
similar themes. “The dramas should cover more topics， not just the usual
ones like time travel，” Li Jiang， head of Dianzhang Tech， told China
Daily.

　　Have you seen cameras in malls or on the streets？ They’re there to help
keep us safe. However， if there are too many cameras or if they’re put up
without being allowed， they can be bad for our privacy.
On April 1， 2025， China introduced new rules to better use these
cameras.The rules make it clear who can put them up and where they can be
placed. According to the rules， only government offices and management
units can set up public cameras. The rules don’t allow cameras in places like
hotel rooms and changing rooms.
　　So can we still put up a camera at our front door？ The answer is yes.
Professor Liu Weijun from the People’s Public Security University of China
told CCTV that the area in front of your home isn’t public， so you can put up
cameras for safety. However， it must not harm others’ private lives or safety.
　　The new rules also explain how people can use the videos. They are only
allowed by law in situations like solving crimes and helping in emergencies.

　　Recently， the movie Dead To Rights(《南京照相馆》)has caught a lot
of attention. Directed by Shen Ao， the film is based on real photos that show
the terrible things Japanese soldiers did during the Nanjing Massacre(大屠杀).
The story happens when Japanese soldiers take control of Nanjing. To stay
alive， a group of Chinese people hide inside a photo studio.
　　To survive， they have to help a Japanese army photographer develop his
pictures. But while doing this， they discover something shocking. The photo
films(胶卷) contain clear proof of the awful crimes(罪行) that Japanese
soldiers committed(犯罪) all over the city. The group decides they must let the
world know the truth. So they secretly keep the films and risk their lives to get
them out safely.
　　The story in the movie is connected to a real person. In 1938， a 15－
year-old boy named Luo Jin worked in Huadong Photo Studio in Nanjing.
Brave and clever， he secretly made over 30 copies of photos showing
Japanese crimes. He put 16 photos into a book and drew a red heart with blood
and the Chinese word “Chi” (which means “shame”) on the cover.
Later， a young man named Wu Xuan kept the book safe. After eight years，
the photos became strong proof of the crimes and were shown to the world.
