（1）修饰形容词或副词的比较级，用以加强程度。

（2）修饰名词、动词、介词短语等，用以加强语气。
I practiced the piano for two hours yesterday, but I still couldn’t even play the first part of the song smoothly.我昨天练了两小时钢琴，但还是甚至连歌曲的开头部分都弹不流畅。
He didn’t come to school. He didn’t even send a message.他没来上学，甚至没发消息。
