Song of the Parting Son describes a scene(场景) from everyday life—a mother making clothes for her son.Nearly every mother has sewn(缝补) something for their children.Many sons and daughters are familiar with this scene.
The poet Meng Jiao (751—814) loved his mother deeply.At the age of 60,he left his job after his mother died.In Song of the Parting Son,he compares(比作) the mother to the warm sun and the child to grass.This shows how great a mother’s love is.

二、词汇用法分析与归纳
1.advice的用法
(1)不可数名词,意为“建议”。常用短语:a piece of advice 一条建议;give sb some advice on/about sth给某人关于……的建议;take sb’s advice 采纳某人的建议
My mother gave me a piece of advice about making good friends.妈妈给了我一条关于结交好朋友的建议。
(2)其动词形式为 advise。常用短语:advise sb(not) to do sth建议某人(不要)做某事;advise doing sth建议做某事
The doctor advises him to exercise for 30 minutes every day.医生建议他每天锻炼30分钟。
2.encourage的用法
encourage是动词,意为“鼓励;激励”。常用短语:encourage sb to do sth鼓励某人做某事;encourage sb in sth在……方面鼓励某人
She encourages her son to speak English every day.她鼓励她儿子每天都说英语。
Don’t encourage him in laziness.不要助长他的懒惰行为。
3.used to的用法
used to意为“曾经,过去常常”,其中to是动词不定式符号,后接动词原形。
She used to be a lawyer.她曾经是一名律师。
We used to play under the big tree.我们过去常常在那棵大树下玩耍。
4.辨析:bored与boring
bored (对某人/事物)厌倦的;烦闷的 多用于说明人的感受
boring 乏味的;令人生厌的;无趣的 多用于说明或修饰事物

5.strict的用法
strict是形容词,意为“要求严格的;严厉的”,其常见用法如下:
(1)be strict with sb对某人要求严格
Her parents are strict with her.她的父母对她要求严格。
(2)be strict about/in (doing) sth对(做)某事要求严格
Our English teacher is strict about our study.我们的英语老师对我们的学习要求严格。
6.be ready的用法
be ready意为“准备好(做某事);愿意(做某事)”,后接动词不定式to do或介词for。
All the students are in the classroom.They are ready to have the English test.
所有的学生都在教室里。他们已经准备好参加英语考试了。
My mother is ready to help our neighbours.我妈妈愿意帮助我们的邻居。
I am ready for the English test.我为英语测试做好了准备。
【拓展】
(1)be ready for“为……做好准备”,表示状态。
The children are ready for the party.孩子们已经准备好参加这个聚会了。
(2)get ready for“为……做好准备”,表示动作。
She is busy getting ready for her interview.她正忙着准备面试。
7.help out的用法
help out意为“帮忙”。
I helped out at the community centre last weekend.上周末我在社区中心帮忙。
【拓展】help out相关的其他短语:
(1)help out with sth帮助做某事

(2)help sb out 帮助某人解决困难/摆脱困境

8.on the way to的用法
on the way to意为“在去……的路上”,也可用做on one’s way to。该短语后接here、there、home等地点副词时,应去掉介词to。
I often pass a bank on the way to school.我在上学的路上经常路过一家银行。
My mother usually buys some vegetables on her way home.
我妈妈通常在回家的路上买一些蔬菜。
9.too...to...的用法
too...to...意为“太……而不能……”。too是副词,后跟形容词或副词,to是动词不定式符号,后跟动词原形。该短语在形式上是肯定结构,但是表达的却是否定意义。
The boy is too young to go to school.这个男孩太小不能去上学。
【拓展】
(1)有时不定式前可以带有一个由介词 for 引出的逻辑主语。
The box is too heavy for me to carry.这个箱子对我来说太重了,我搬不动。
(2)too...to...可与 so..that...not...或not...enough to...进行转换。
The maths problem is too difficult for me to work out.=The maths problem is so difficult that I can’t work it out.=The maths problem is not easy enough for me to work out.这个数学题太难了,我解不出。
10.辨析:see sb doing sth与see sb do sth
see sb doing sth 看见某人正在做某事 强调看到的动作正在发生
see sb do sth 看见某人做某事 强调看到了动作的全过程或动作经常发生

11.be close to的用法
(1)在关系上亲近。

(2)在位置上接近。

(4)在目标上接近。
We were close to winning the match.我们差一点就赢了比赛。
(5)接近于某种状态或情况。

(一)不定冠词(a,an)的回顾
1.表示某一类中的“一个”,如:
My grandma used to be a doctor.
She is a kind and cheerful woman.
She is an honest woman.
2.表示“每一”,如:
Mr Li gives us five maths lessons once a week.
We have two terms a year.
3.指某人或某物,但并不具体指哪个人或哪个物,如:
A boy tells us the story about Mr Li.
Give me a pen.
4.在语境中,表示“第一次”提及的一个单数可数名词,如:
My cheerful aunt has a clear idea about her fear of bears.But the idea is a secret.

请阅读下面关于定冠词的拓展用法,然后用你自己的、简洁的语言整合出一张定冠词全面用法的思维导图。可用不同的颜色标明你自己的认知,比如难点、重点等。
1.定冠词、指示代词(this,that等)和物主代词(my,your等),都属于特指限定词,the是最常见的特指限定词,可以置于任何普通名词前。须注意,英语名词前只能用一个特指限定词。
2.the的读音有三种:/ /其后的词以辅音音素开头(如the dictionary),/ i/其后的词以元音音素开头(如the effect),/ i /用于强调,如:
You don’t mean the Ernest Hemingway (the用于人名之前,表示某人是同名的人之中最著名的。)
But you must come with us.It’s the club to go to.(the常常置于名词之前,表示某人或某物是同类中最好的。这一用法与“the+最高级”类似。)
3.“the+单数名词”可表示一个生物类或者一个群体,这是正式语体中的概指,如:
Australia is the home of the kangaroo.
It gave suggestions on how to cure the patient.
更常见的是用不带限定词的复数名词表示某类中的全体成员,如:
Dogs need a regular balanced diet,not just meat.
4.“the+形容词”表示某一类人或事物。如:

5.the和表示姓氏名词的复数形式连用,表示某姓氏一家人或一对夫妇。如:
the Greens格林一家,the Zhaos赵家一家人
6.the 用于度量单位前,表示“每一”。如:
This cloth is sold by the metre.

7.the可置于某些泛指限定词(few,little等)之前,一般表示数额或数
量。如:
It’s a secret known only to the few.

8.通常用物主限定词指人体的某个部位,如:She has a bag in her hand.但是,如果描述某人对他人身上某部位进行动作,则常用定冠词,人体部位作介词宾语、动词宾语为代词时,尤其如此。如:
I encouraged him and I patted him on the head.
He took her by the arm and began drawing her gently away.

9.形容词和副词最高级前面通常需要加the,但是当形容词最高级在句子中作表语时,以及副词最高级在句子中作状语时,the是可有可无的,是可以省略的。如:

Mr Hong is my favourite teacher.He is old but energetic, with a pair of enlightening eyes behind a pair of glasses.
