一、时态的类别
时态从时间上可划分为四大类:现在时、过去时、将来时和过去将来时。从状态上又可分为:一般式、 进行式、完成式和完成进行式。英语的动词合起来,总共有16种时态。 同学们在七年级上学期已经学习了一般现在时、一般将来时和一般过去时。你们是否还记得其动词的变化规则呢 请你写出work一词的时态变化:

用法与意义:
请阅读下面关于现在进行时的用法,然后整理成思维导图。
1.当我们强调动作此时此刻正在发生,我们可以用现在进行时。比如:
Don’t make any noise! The baby is sleeping.
2.我们还可以用现在进行时表示当前一段时间内的活动或现阶段正在进行的动作。比如:We are learning to play the piano these days.这种用法也可以表示这种情况是暂时的。比如:She is spending the summer in Europe.
3.现在进行时还可用来表示变化、趋势、发展和进展。比如:His handwriting is improving.和The village is changing.
4.某些动词的进行时态可表示将来的动作。比如:A few foreigners are coming to visit our school this afternoon.现在进行时表示将来这种用法常指“意图”“安排”或“打算”,这种表述比较生动,给人一种期待感。能这样用的动词有:arrive,come,do,get,go,have,leave,meet,play,return等。
5.使用现在进行时通常不必接时间状语,表示现在时间的now,today有时也与其他时态连用,但下面的时间状语几乎总是与现在进行时连用:at present,presently,currently,nowadays,these days。当现在进行时与时间状语always,forever连用时,表达经常发生的习惯性动作,尤其是刚刚发生的或暂时性的习惯动作。比如:He is always playing football at the weekends.和The little boy is forever asking questions.这种用法常用来表示说话人褒义或贬义的情感色彩,如赞许、批评、喜欢、厌恶等。
6.有些动词通常不能用于现在进行时。这些词通常是表示“感觉、感情、存在、从属、思维”等的动词。这些动词通常只用于一般式,不用于进行式。如:
(1)表示感觉的动词:see,hear,smell,taste,feel,notice,look,seem,appear。
(2)表示感情的动词:hate,love,fear,like,want,wish,prefer,refuse,forgive。
(3)表示存在状况:be,exist,remain,stay,obtain。
(4)表示从属或占有:have,possess,own,contain,belong,consist of,form。
(5) 表示思考、理解:understand,know,believe,think,doubt,forget,remember。

从上面的练习中,你发现了现在进行时中动词-ing形式的变化规律了吗 大部分动词都是直接加-ing即可;以不发音的字母e结尾的动词,先去掉e再加-ing,如write→writing;以重读、闭音、单辅音字母结尾的动词,双写这个辅音字母再加-ing,如run→running(注意:单音节单词中有两个元音的动词无须双写,如iron→ironing); 以字母ie结尾的动词,先将ie变为y再加-ing,如lie→lying; 以c结尾的动词,变c为ck再加-ing,如picnic→picnicking。

1.provide的用法
provide为及物动词,意为“提供;供应”。常用结构:provide sb with sth/ provide sth for sb为某人提供某物。

2.silent的用法
silent为形容词,意为“不说话的;沉默的”。keep silent保持沉默。

5.辨析:stop doing与stop to do

6.辨析:borrow,lend与keep
borrow意为“借用”,表示主语借用别人的东西。borrow sth from sb借某人的某物。

keep意为“保存”,可与表示一段时间的状语连用。keep sth for + 一段时间,意为“保留某物一段时间”。

7.by accident的用法
by accident介词短语,意为“偶然;意外地”,用来描述某件事情是偶然发生的,不是有意为之。在句中可作状语或表语。

8.use的用法
use作动词,意为“使用”。use sth to do...= use sth for doing...用某物来做……;use sth as...把某物用作……。
use作名词,意为“使用;用途”。the use of...……的用途; make use of sth利用某物。

10. treat的用法
(1)treat作动词,意为“以……态度对待”。

(3)treat作动词,意为“把……看作”。

according to为介词短语,后接名词、代词或从句作宾语。
