At the year’s Boao Forum for Asia (博鳌亚洲论坛), experts expressed excitement about the potential (潜力) of AI. Zhang Keke, director of the Macau Institute of Space Technology and Application, said that Mars could become a planet which is suitable for humans to live on with the help of AI.
“Mars used to have water and an environment just like the earth. I believe in the future humans could improve the environment on Mars through AI technology, making it have air and water again, so that humans can live there,” Zhang said. “It may not be science fiction. If this happens, it will solve many troubles faced by humans, such as the shortage of land. That is why humans have been exploring the moon and other planets for many years.”
All kinds of ideas have been come up with by many scientists to recreate the magnetic field (磁场) of Mars. When there is a magnetic field, it acts like an umbrella and stops solar wind, allowing the environment to become suitable for the development of water, air and human life.
Actually, China is already on this way. Tianwen-1 probe landed on Mars as early as 2021. This was the first time that China has carried out an 1exploration of the magnetic field on Mars.
“China’s exploring of Mars will be further sped up with the development of AI,” Zhang said. “In 2028, China will launch a second spacecraft called Tianwen-3, which will take samples (样本) from Mars and bring them back to the earth. So I feel that with powerful tools like AI and machine learning methods, humans will greatly increase the speed of exploration of resources on Mars, and especially on the moon, in the future.”

This semester, at a middle school in Jiangsu Province, there have been big changes both for students and teachers. These changes happened because AI tools were used. By using AI to create personalized exercises and exams, teachers at the school can adjust their teaching methods to suit each student’s needs and abilities.
After students finish studying a unit, teachers use AI to pick different questions from an online database (数据库) that includes various extracurricular (课外的) materials. This helps create a customized set of exercises for the unit, helping students strengthen their knowledge. These exercises are then printed on paper. “With this special learning material created by AI, we don’t need to carry all the heavy exercise books any more.” said the 14-year-old He Liyan.
Students answer the exercise questions on answer sheets. Teachers collect these sheets, scan them into an AI system for grading. The AI creates numbers and graphics (图形) that help teachers understand each student’s performance as well as how the whole class is doing overall. “Our teacher no longer explains all the questions one by one. Instead, she looks at the common mistakes and provides one-on-one help for every one of us,” said the 15-year-old Wang Dinghan.
What’s more, students can get special error log (错题日志) or homework created by AI depending on their performance in previous exams. “The homework is all about what I got wrong before, so I don’t need to practice over and over again what I already understand,” said He.
“I used to have a notebook copying my mistakes so that I can study them,” said Yu Zifu, 15. “But now, AI has done this for me!”

There’s much excitement and argument about Artificial Intelligence (AI人工智能). One heated debate (争论) is whether robots will replace (代替) teachers in classrooms. Some think it’ll happen in the next ten years, while others believe a good teacher’s value, like building a child’s confidence and creativity, can’t be easily replaced.
AI is not new for us and is already being, used in many fields, such as medicine, science and so on. So what does this mean for our future In my view, AI will help kids to think more freely and creatively. Can AI possibly cut down the teaching work in the future, too Of course. Our teachers are always busy preparing materials for their lessons. Just imagine how happy they would be if they don’t have to copy hundreds of paper, but instead, have this task or others done by machines.
However, most importantly, I believe AI will not be able to copy the human mental condition (精神状态) completely, especially emotional intelligence (情商). What makes learning unforgettable is shared experience, human interaction (互相作用), and long-lasting positive (积极的) relationships. For example, experienced teachers can comfort (安慰) a student if he has suffered a serious loss. But robots may not do this well.
I also believe we need to continue to celebrate our kids’ personality and their ability not only to make decisions but also make the right decisions. These are skills that they can get as they get more life experience and are given the space to experiment.
In short, AI in education has both advantage and disadvantage. It’s a useful tool. It helps students learn better and reduces teachers’ workload. But it can never replace teachers. Teachers understand students’ feelings, guide them, and help with their overall (全面的) development. The future of education needs to mix the good points of AI with teachers’ special abilities. This way, we can create a nice and efficient learning environment.
10.How does the writer start the passage

Do you think automated (自动化的) kitchens only exist in science fiction shows like Star Trek Well, think again! Nowadays, robots are already being used to do many things in the kitchen, like frying chicken, making pizzas, and preparing salads. And artificial intelligence (AI) can even create new recipes based on the ingredients available in a kitchen.
There are some good things about AI kitchens. For example, cooks don’t have to do boring jobs like peeling potatoes or standing in one place for hours. This saves time and lets people do more important things. AI can also provide different kinds of special diets and tastes to meet personal needs.
However, there are also problems. Cooking is not just about making food. It’s a good activity that helps people communicate and express themselves. Family relationships might not be good without the time spent together in the kitchen.
Moreover, the kitchen is like a science lab at home. It’s important for kids to learn about materials, chemistry, and how to solve problems through cooking.
We also have to think about cultural problems. Sometimes, AI might change traditional recipes and cooking methods because it doesn’t understand cultural details well. This could make the dishes less diverse. If we rely too much on technology for cooking, the food might taste the same.
In conclusion, while new technologies bring convenience, they also have a price.
14.Which is NOT the benefit of AI kitchens
A.Saving time on food. B.Reducing kitchen waste. C.Meeting various tastes.
15.If AI takes over cooking completely, what might happen
A.Traditional cooking skills might be lost.
B.Family relationships might be improved.
C.The dishes might be more diverse and taste more delicious.
16.What is the author’s attitude toward the widespread use of AI kitchens
A.Careful. B.Positive. C.Uncaring.

Is the rise of AI doctors like something out of science fiction No, it is truly happening now. In different parts of China, we can clearly see how AI is bringing big changes to the medical field.
In February 2025, Beijing Children’s Hospital introduced China’s first AI children’s doctor. One day, an 8-year-old boy had sudden and unexplained epilepsy (癫痫). Thirteen top doctors tried hard to find out the best treatment. At the same time, the AI quickly looked into the boy’s medical history and symptoms (症状). In just a few minutes, it came up with a plan that was very similar to what the human doctors thought.
In Shandong, a worried couple decided to try an Al tool called DeepSeek when their child felt unwell. After the couple offered the blood test results, DeepSeek suggested that the boy probably had a bad cold and recommended some medicine. Surprisingly when they went to the hospital, the doctor prescribed (开处方) the exact same medicine.
Even in places that don’t have many medical resources, like some community hospitals in Wuhan and countrysides in Shandong, AI is giving a helping hand. All these real-life examples show us two important things that AI technology can do. It can help top doctors make better decisions and it can also make everyone in the country get health care more easily. However, the discussions are still going on. As one doctor said, “AI technology can give us ideas, but the care and judgment (判断) that humans bring are still needed. ”

January 20, 2025, a Chinese tech company named DeepSeek made a new AI called DeepSeek-R1. This smart program can solve maths problems, write code (代码), and answer questions like top models such as OpenAI’s GPT-40, but it costs much less to build. The team spent only $5.58 million (1/70 of OpenAI’s cost) and used 2,048 computer chips for two months. This shows that good ideas can beat big money.
DeepSeek-R1 learns by trying many times and getting better, like how students practise maths. Other AIs need lots of prepared examples, but R1 improves by itself. A simple version (版本) of R1 can even run on low-cost computers, helping schools and small companies.
DeepSeek-R1 is free to use and change. On its first day online, over 19,000 programmers all over the world started projects to study it. A German scientist said experiments with it cost$10 instead of $ 300 with other AIs. This kind of free AI could change the world.
U. S. tech companies are worried. Experts say China is catching up fast. A report in Nature magazine called R1 a “big step forward”, proving that smart ideas beat expensive tools.

On May 2, 2023, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) called on its 11,500 members to begin a strike in Hollywood, California, and New York City in the US. It was the first writers’ strike in more than 15 years and made many movie and TV projects stop.
One big problem was the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The WGA wanted Hollywood’s studios and producers to limit (限制) the use of AI on creative projects. They wanted AI not to be allowed to write or rewrite material or be used as source material.
Creative AI programs like Chat GPT can now create human-like written works and panies could use these programs instead of people to create scripts (剧本) for movies and TV shows in the future. The WGA was worried that AI could be used to create scripts based on writer’s previous works.
Another problem was pay. Warren Leight, an executive producer (执行制作人), said, “What AI could do is put out a garbled (混乱不清的) piece of work … instead of hiring you to do a first draft, studios hire you to do a second draft, which pays less.” This made writers want to “nip that in the bud”.
AI is already being used widely in other parts of the entertainment industry, such as deaging actors in post-production, said Fortune magazine. Even the WGA and others are open to using AI “less as a creator and more as a tool”, similar to how writers might refer to research material for their work, said tech news website Gizmodo. Still, although AI is not set to replace human writers just yet, the chance could be there in the future.

At first look, it seems to be Johannes Vermeer’s work “Girl with a Pearl Earring”. But a closer look and you may find something different about it. There are two shining earrings and a little unusual shadow (阴影) of red on the girl’s face.
Look strange It’s actually a picture made by a Dutch designer Julian Van Dieken who used artificial intelligence (AI). Among 3,482 pictures which were created based on Johannes Vermeer’s work, this AI-generated (生成) work was chosen to show, in the Mauritshuis museum in the Netherlands.
“One of the most famous paintings in history is being replaced by one of my AI pictures,” Van Dicken wrote on Instagram. He said that the experience was “crazy” and “unreal”
However, the AI picture caused wide discussion. Though the press officer (新闻发言人) of the Mauritshuis museum, Boris de Munnick, said that “it’s a nice and creative way of making it”, many people questioned whether it could be called art and be shown in the museum, reported AFP.
Dutch artist Iris Compiet described the picture on show as “something unexpected”, AFP noted. She added that “it’s an insult to the works of Vermeer and also to any working artist. Knowing that it was shown in a museum, I feel that it’s a real slap (掌掴) in the face.”
In fact, this is not the first time people have discussed the use of AI. As Taylor Michael explained, some worry AI art breaks copyright laws (版权法). Artists sar these tools use their works without permission (允许). Also the increasing use of AI in creative works may do harm to the development of art.
