In a natural park of Qinghai, a special wild (野生的) wolf became popular for asking passing drivers for food. People loved to take pictures and make videos of this friendly wolf, and soon it became famous.
However, there are some problems. This wolf used to be very thin and wild, but now it’s getting round and even picky (挑剔的) about what it eats. Also, this wolf is not alone anymore. Other wolves have joined it, and now there’s a group of them asking people for food.
Scientists are worried about these wolves. They say that if we keep feeding wild animals, they might get sick or not be able to find food on their own. Feeding wild animals can be dangerous, too. These animals can carry diseases (疾病), and they might hurt us. Besides, when people stop their cars to give food, it can cause busy roads and accidents.
Experts say it’s best to let wild animals live their own lives. The park has put up signs telling people not to feed the animals, and the police are helping to make sure everyone follows the rules.
We should always take care of wild animals and their homes. By not feeding them, we are actually helping them stay healthy and strong in the wild.

25.Why are scientists worried about these wolves
A.Because they might lose their homes.

C.Because they might get sick or not know how to find food.

B.To put up more signs to help wild animals.
C.To help the police save animals in the wild.

A Day in the Life of the Smiths
The Smiths are a typical American family. Mr. Smith comes home from work as soon as it’s 5 o’clock. As a result of a long day at the office, he looks a bit tired. Mrs. Smith has been busy doing housework all day. She has swept the floor, folded the clothes, and taken out the rubbish. Now she is doing the dishes in the kitchen.
Their 14-year-old son, Tom, comes home from school at 4:30. He throws down his schoolbag on the sofa and starts to work on his math homework. He knows that if he wants to get good grades, he must finish doing his homework carefully. After an hour, he takes a break and decides to help out with the housework. He makes the bed in his room and then goes to the kitchen to ask his mom if he can do something else.
Tonight, the family decides not to cook at home. They go out for dinner. On the way, Tom asks his dad if he can get a ride to his friend’s house this weekend. His dad agrees. After dinner, they don’t stay out late as Tom has to study for a test tomorrow.
Back home, Tom’s friend calls and invites him to a party on Saturday. Tom is excited and decides to go to the store to buy some snacks for the party. Before he leaves, his little sister asks him to take her for a walk. Tom hates to do this at first because he is in a hurry, but he knows he should look after his sister, so he takes her for a short walk around the neighborhood.

Later that evening, Tom’s friend comes over to borrow his basketball. Tom lends him the ball and tells him to be careful with it. They hang out for a while, talking about the party.

Dear Susan,
I’m sorry to hear that your friends laugh at you. I understand how you feel. It’s important to feel happy at school. Here are a few things you can try.
First, talk to those friends of yours about how you are feeling. You could say something like, “When you make fun of my clothes, it really hurts my feelings. I wish you would stop.” However, if you don’t feel safe doing this, talk to your teacher or parents. They have more experience and are always there to help you. Second, stay confident. Remember, you are special just the way you are! Wear what makes you happy.
I hope my advice will be helpful to you.
Yours,
Li Ming
