Clay figure. Huishan Clay Figures are a traditional Chinese folk art originating from Huishan, a historic area in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province.
Dating back over 400 years to the Ming Dynasty, these figures are crafted from the unique black clay found at the foot of Huishan Mountain, renowned for its fine texture and plasticity.

Huishan clay figures from Wuxi are made from a kind
of black clay. They have strong local colour.
There are two types of Huishan clay figures. Look at
those on your left. They are made in moulds, in the
shape of cute kids and animals. They have simple
shapes and bright colours, and express wishes for good
luck and a happy life. The figures on your right are
made by hand. They usually show popular scenes from
traditional operas.
Now you can have a close look at them and enjoy
their beauty!

泥塑(惠山泥人),江苏省无锡市传统美术,国家级非物质文化遗产之一。惠山泥人是一种产于无锡惠北的彩色泥塑人像,它创始于明代,发达于清代,已有400多年的历史。惠山泥人分粗货与细货两类,其造型简练饱满、线条流畅明快、色彩鲜艳夺目、构思巧妙细致,作品多为儿童玩具和摆设陈品,其中的代表作品有《手捏戏文》《大阿福》等。
主要题材
惠山泥人分粗货与细货两类,粗货大多以喜庆吉祥题材为表现内容,如大阿福、蚕猫、老寿星、渔翁等,寄托着民间祈求祥瑞、辟邪纳福、丰衣足食的美好愿望;细货即手捏泥人,这类作品主要取材于传统的戏曲人物、神话传说、民风民俗,人物塑画生动传神,色彩色调秀丽明隽。

Kites have a long history in China. They date back thousands of years. There are different materials for making kites, such as wood, bamboo, paper, and silk.
Early kites often looked like birds. And in fact, the earliest kite we know of is in the shape of a bird. Modern kites come in many cool shapes. For example, some look like dragons or planes and make you go, WOW, some look like famous people from history and you know what Some kites even have colourful lights. They look really beautiful in the night sky.
Flying kites is a very popular outdoor activity today. People like to fly kites on sunny, windy days in spring. If you're in Weifang, Shandong Province in April, you're in for a treat. The city is famous for kites and there's a kite festival every April. You can go there and see all kinds of amazing kites.

Huizhou inkstick
The Huizhou inkstick is among the best of its kind. It gets its
name from the old Huizhou area, largely in today’s Anhui
Province. The Huizhou inkstick has a history of over 1,000 years
and was very popular with ancient Chinese writers and painters.
The Huizhou inkstick uses pine wood as its main material. It is
very difficult to make. Usually the making of such an inkstick
takes over a year. The Huizhou inkstick is beautiful, and some
people say the inkstick itself is a work of art.
