In picture 1, there is a bat flying at night.
In picture 2, there is a big bird flying in the blue sky.
Bats find their way by listening. They are awake at night and can eat up to 1,200 insects in an hour.
Birds can fly with their two wings.

Humans have a lot to thank animals for. For example, we get design ideas from animals to help us make new things.
Radar allows ships to "see" things around
them and travel safely. The idea comes
from bats. Bats make sounds, and then
listen for the echo. This echo tells the bats
about things around them.
Then there are planes. Humans looked at birds and studied their wings. Then they had the idea of planes. Planes have a pair of big wings, just like birds.

辨析: noise, sound 与voice
noise 可数不可数名词意为“噪音”。 指任何响亮、不悦耳的嘈杂声。 Don’t make any noise. Keep quiet, please.别吵。请保持安静。
sound 可数不可数名词意为“声音;声响”。 指人能听到的任何声音或响动。指具体意义的声音时为可数名词,指抽象意义的声音时为不可数名词。 Light travels faster than sound. 光传播得比声音快。
voice 可数不可数名词 意为“嗓音”。 指人的说话声、歌声或笑声。 How sweet her voice sounds! 她的嗓音听起来多么甜美!
6. They cheer us up when we feel sad.
当我们感到悲伤时,他们会让我们振作起来。
cheer up 作不及物动词短语时,表示“(自己)高兴/ 振奋起来”,此时无需宾语。cheer up 作及物动词短语时,意思是“使变得高兴/ 振奋起来”,其宾语一般是人(sb.)或反身代词(oneself)。
注意:cheer up 是“动词+ 副词”结构的动词短语,当有代词作宾语时,代词应放在cheer 和up 之间。

care for 作“关心”讲时,往往伴随着实际行动;care about 表示对某人或某事的关心和重视,这种关心更多是情感上的,不一定伴随实际行动。
