Suzy: Not much, Mr Wu. I’m afraid of some animals.
Mr Wu: Really Animals are very interesting. Look at the giraffe. It has a very long neck, but there are only seven bones in it, just like ours. Also, giraffes can sleep standing up.
Suzy: Oh, that’s interesting. I’d like to see a sleeping giraffe one day. But I think I’m still afraid of some animals like snakes.
Mr Wu: Don’t be afraid. Most snakes are shy. They sleep for months in winter when you see a snake just leave it alone.
Suzy: That's good advice.
Mr Wu: It’s a good tip for all animals. Leave them alone. If they want to say hello to you, they will.

Radar allows ships to “see” things around them and travel safely. The idea comes from bats. Bats make sounds, and then listen for the echo. This echo tells the bats about things around them.
Then there are planes. Humans looked at birds and studied their wings. Then they had the idea of planes. Planes have a pair of big wings, just like birds.

Humans have a lot to thank animals for. For example, we get design ideas from animals to help us make new things.

Teddy is quiet and friendly. He seldom makes loud noises, and he is always happy to see me. When I come home from school, he runs after me, and that makes me feel happy. If I am down, Teddy will stay next to me and help me relax. He always makes me feel better.

A white puppy.
It has short, white fur. It has a cute little face with big, round eyes and a small nose. Its ears are floppy and it has four short legs.

It runs around the house, chasing its own tail sometimes. It also plays with its toys, like a small ball. When I come home, it jumps up and down and licks my hands.
