(2026·陕西榆林·二模)The morning sun shone through the windows of Tianjin Eco-City School as Li Ming put on his VR glasses. His classmates chatted excitedly around him. Through his VR glasses, Li Ming floated inside a rocket, learning about how it is sent up. “It’s so great! It’s like becoming an astronaut without leaving our seats,” he said.
When P. E. class began later that morning, things were different too. Teachers no longer used stopwatches to count sit-ups. Instead, they used self-testing tools with AI visual analysis(人工智能视觉分析) technology. Li Ming stood in front of a camera on the wall that watched his moves as he jumped. Before his shoes even landed on the floor, a friendly robot voice said: “2.1 meters! Bend(弯曲) your knees more next time!” Students checked their smart watches to compare scores, turning exercises into a fun competition using numbers.
As well as learning, students can also enjoy meals made by a smart dining hall. At lunchtime, Li Ming walked to the face-scanning(面部扫描) screen in the dining hall. It showed his chosen meal at once: potato with beef, rice and an orange. His mom had picked this meal using the school’s phone app earlier that day. 2026 is the Year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac (生肖). In traditional culture, the horse stands for speed, energy, and success. But this year, something new is happening. Artificial intelligence, or AI, is helping us experience these traditions in exciting ways that young people love.
In Beijing, a museum has a special “magic mirror”. When visitors stand in front of it, the mirror shows them wearing ancient clothes and riding a beautiful horse. It feels like traveling back to the Tang Dynasty. Many visitors take photos and share them online. They say it’s a fun way to learn about history.
In Xi’an, a robot has become popular among students. The robot is shaped like a small horse. It can dance to traditional Chinese music, and its movements are very smooth. More interestingly, it can hold a writing brush and write the Chinese character “马” on red paper. The writing is so good that some people think it was done by a human calligrapher (书法家). Students enjoy watching it because it makes calligraphy seem cool and easy.
In Shanghai, people use a special app during the Spring Festival. When they point their phones at a piece of red paper, a horse from an ancient painting appears on the screen and starts running. The horse looks so real that children try to catch it with their hands. This clever use of technology brings old paintings to life.
Some people worry that AI might take the place of human artists. However, most experts believe that AI is just a helpful tool! It helps us learn about traditional culture in new and interesting ways. It was a warm afternoon, and I was having my first art class for a group of middle school students. The room was filled with excitement, and each student held a blank canvas*, ready to create.
To break the ice, I asked them to draw their favorite memory. Most kids worked quickly. But one girl, Lily, sat quietly in the corner, hardly touching her canvas.
I walked over and gently asked, “Is everything okay ” She nodded, but her eyes were full of worry. “I’m just thinking,” she said in a low voice.
Minutes passed, and others began finishing their drawings. When it was time to share, Lily’s canvas was still nearly blank, except for a single, small dot in the center.
Some students laughed. “That’s all ” one boy said. Lily’s face turned red, but she stood up and explained softly: “This dot is the moment I realized I didn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful.” She continued, “Last year, I was always afraid of making mistakes. But one day, my grandma told me that even the smallest dot can be the start of something beautiful.”
The room fell silent. Then, a boy named Tom, who had laughed earlier, said, “Actually... that makes sense.”
From that day on, the class changed. The students became more helpful, focusing less on perfection and more on courage. Lily, once quiet, grew more confident.
That day, I learned that the most powerful thing in creation is not the perfect work, but the courage to begin.

(2026·陕西榆林·一模)The Iron Age (铁器时代) started about 3,200 years ago and lasted for around 1,000 years, depending on the area. During the Iron Age, people began using iron tools and weapons (武器) instead of bronze ones.
ToolsIron tools allowed farmers and builders to work better. They were able to grow more crops, clear land for farms, and build bigger buildings. WeaponsIron weapons were lighter and cheaper to make than weapons made from bronze. They were also stronger and sharper. Having good weapons meant societies could build powerful armies.
Making ironMaking iron objects is a process that needs great craftsmanship(手艺)and care. The iron must be made very hot before it can be shaped into a weapon or a tool. How we shape iron today is similar to how iron age craftsmen performed the task. 1. Dig it out. Iron is dug from the ground in lumps(块), called iron ore. 2. Heat it up. The iron ore is smelted at high temperatures to produce a spongy iron bloom. 3. Hammer it. The hot bloom is hammered and shaped into a tool or a weapon.
1.How long did the Iron Age last
It lasted for around .
2.What helped farmers and builders work better during the Iron Age
helped farmers and builders work better.
3.What does the underlined word “They” refer to
It refers to “ ”.
4.What is needed to make iron objects

In 1997, during a football game between France and Brazil, Roberto Carlos, a young Brazilian player, made history with an amazing 35-meter free kick. With no direct line to the goal, Carlos tried something impossible. He kicked the ball far to the side, but just before going out of bounds (界限), it curved (沿曲线运动) to the left and went into the goal. Everyone was shocked by this kick.
The secret behind this kick lies in physics. Newton’s first law of motion says that an object keeps moving in the same direction and speed unless a force changes it. Carlos gave the ball direction and speed, but it was the spin (旋转) he added that made the ball curve so much. Carlos kicked the ball at its lower right corner, making it spin as it flew through the air. The spin changed the air pressure on each side of the ball. On one side, the air pushed against the spin, creating more pressure. On the other side, the air went with the spin, lowering pressure. This difference caused the ball to curve toward the lower-pressure side. This is called the Magnus effect. It also explains how golf balls, ping-pong, and baseballs move.
This kind of kick, called a “banana kick”, is one of the most amazing moves in soccer. But it is very hard to do. The ball needs the perfect height, speed, and direction to curve around the players and go into the goal.
Could you kick a ball so hard that it comes back to you like a boomerang (回力镖) Sadly, no. Even if the ball didn’t break when you kicked it or hit anything in the way, the air would slow it down.
1.Which paragraph best matches the picture on the right
It’s Paragraph .
2.Which side of the ball had more pressure
The side where .
3.What is the physics that made Carlos’s goal possible
It is .
4.Why can’t a ball come back like a boomerang
Because even without the ball’s breaking or hitting something.
5.What title can you make for this passage in no more than eight words using “physics” and “a banana kick”
The title can be “ ”.
【答案】1.1 2.the air pushed against the spin 3.the Magnus effect 4.the air would slow it down 5.Physics of a Banana Kick
【导语】本文介绍了巴西球员罗伯托·卡洛斯在1997年比赛中踢出的“香蕉球”及其背后的物理原理——马格努斯效应,并解释了为何球无法像回力镖一样返回。
1.第一段对香蕉球飞行轨迹的描述“He kicked the ball far to the side, but just before going out of bounds, it curved to the left and went into the goal.”可看出,图片展示的正是这一弧形轨迹。因此答案是第一段。
2.第二段句子“On one side, the air pushed against the spin, creating more pressure. On the other side, the air went with the spin, lowering pressure.”指出,空气与旋转方向相反的一侧压力更大。因此答案是“the air pushed against the spin”。
3.第二段“This is called the Magnus effect.”表明,使卡洛斯进球成为可能的物理学原理是马格努斯效应。因此答案是“the Magnus effect”。
4.最后一段的句子“Even if the ball didn’t break when you kicked it or hit anything in the way, the air would slow it down.”指出,即使球没有破裂或碰撞任何东西,空气也会使其减速。因此答案是“the air would slow it down”。
5.本文围绕“香蕉球”的物理学原理展开,标题需包含“physics”和“a banana kick”,且不超过8个词。因此可拟为“Physics of a Banana Kick”。

Nowadays, attending the live concerts has become a hit among young people in China. The concert tickets of popular bands or top singers often sell out in a few minutes. But what is behind this concert boom (热潮) Is it simply about the music, or does it tell us something deeper about today’s young people
There are several reasons why young people are so attracted to the live concerts. First of all, for many young people, they think they can truly be themselves during the live concerts. In their daily lives, they are workers, sons or daughters who always play certain roles. But inside the concert hall, when they gather with thousands of strangers who love the same music, they can get a strong sense of belonging. As one 25-year-old fan said, “For two hours, I’m not anyone’s child or teammate. I’m just myself.”
Next, the live concerts offer young people a way to deal with stress. Studies show that young people today face more pressure from work, high expectations, and the rapidly developing digital (数字的) world. At a live concert, the loud music and bright lights help them “shout out” their worries. Many people describe this experience as a form of emotional medicine*.
What’s more, one of the best parts is that young people can do many special things. They dress up carefully, meet new friends, sing along with idols, record videos and so on. These things are full of happiness and sweet memories from both idols and other fans.
However, not everyone supports concert culture. It has become more commercial (商业化的) than before. Some young people spend too much money that they cannot afford. In order to meet their favorite idols face to face, a few of them even give up working, travel across cities and wait for long hours.
In my opinion, the live concerts are just a kind of entertainment. The true value of music is to bring warmth and energy. “Young people should be wise and balance their hobbies with work. They’d better not lose themselves in blind chasing**. Only in this way can they really enjoy the beauty of music.
*emotional medicine: something that makes people feel better when they are sad or tired.
**blind chasing: running after someone or something without thinking clearly.

Then, the hero wins and you realize you’ve been holding your breath all the time. Superhero movies come out every year. Avengers: Endgame was so popular that tickets for the first week were sold out quickly. Why do we never get tired of watching these movies
Superhuman abilities, alien worlds, and strange situations are features of our favorite superhero movies. Yet these characteristics are absent from our real life. The great difference between these movies and our daily life allows us to separate one from the other. When our real life becomes too hard for us to face, we can get away into the world of superheroes.
Why do we love superheroes First, because they are those who have superpowers and are brave enough to sacrifice (牺牲) themselves. Second, their courage is often translated on screen as superheroes using their abilities to protect humans. We are born to be attracted to people who protect the weaker ones.
In recent movies, superheroes with amazing abilities also experience very human moments like losing loved ones. As a result, we see part of ourselves in these characters and they help us face challenges like them.

Have you ever tried to hide your feelings from someone during a conversation It’s not always easy, as the colors on your face may tell the truth.
Scientists from the Ohio State University have found that people are able to tell other people’s feelings according to changes in the color of their faces, The Guardian reported. Scientists studied pictures of people’s facial expressions. They found that every facial expression has a special color mode. For example, happiness makes our faces red around the cheeks and temples (太阳穴) and a little blue around the chin (下巴). Disgust (厌恶) creates a blue-yellow color around the lips (嘴唇), but also a red-green color around the nose and forehead (前额).
“We believe these color patterns (图案) are because of small changes in blood flow (流动). It is controlled by the central nervous system.” lead researcher Alex Martinez told The Guardian. But this raises the question: Is it the color alone, or also facial expressions, that help people tell others’ feelings
To find this out, scientists added color patterns to pictures of faces that showed no facial expressions. They asked volunteers to tell what emotions (情绪) the faces were showing. They were able to tell the emotion correctly 75 percent of the time.
This may explain why there are some Chinese sayings that connect feelings to the color of one’s face. For example, when two people are heatedly arguing over something, we say they are ________ in the face. When a person is very angry, we’d say he or she is blue in the face.

Have you ever been on a team Can you imagine you are on a team for a big sports competition, the World Championships Everyone has practiced for months. But just before the final event, one of your teammates gets injured (受伤). This is what happened to the Chinese artistic swimming team in Singapore in July, 2025. A swimmer named Zhang Yayi injured her foot and could not compete. The whole team was worried. Their dream of winning seemed impossible.
The team leader, a 25-year-old swimmer named Feng Yu, knew she had to do something. She bravely decided to take Zhang’s place. But this was not easy. The team had a totally new routine (一套动作) with a “Gravity” theme. It was full of difficult movements and had three new acrobatic (杂技) parts that were very hard to do. Feng Yu had only nine days to learn this new routine. The pressure was huge.

When other swimmers rested by the side of the pool, she would quietly lie down and practice the hand movements over and over again. “I was afraid of forgetting the parts,” she said. But she did not want to make her team worry. She kept her fears to herself. Her friends on the team gave her a lot of energy. They always said, “You can do it! We believe in you.” This amazing teamwork was very important.

He flies a small plane, which looks like a toy next to the huge glaciers. The work needs much skill and time. The weather is cold and terrible, with strong winds, and he has to fly very close to the glaciers’ surfaces. Many people think he is crazy for doing this.
Some people question him, saying satellites (人造卫星) can take glacier photos too. But Fisher says satellite pictures can’t show glaciers’ beauty like his can—his photos capture (拍摄) their colors, shapes and the shadows in the sunlight. He hopes his photos can make people care more about glaciers and push governments to act against global warming.
“We can live without glaciers, and we will,” Fisher says. “But it hurts us to lose them.”
1.When did the melting of the glaciers in the Alps start to become faster
It has become faster .
2.Why is Fisher “in a race against time (underlined in Paragraph 2)”
Because he wants to .
3.What word(s) can you put in the “________”
I can put “ ” there.
4.According to Fisher, what is the difference between his glacier pictures and those from satellites
His photos can show , while satellite pictures cannot.
5.What does Fisher hope people do after seeing his glacier pictures
He hopes people can .
【答案】1.since 1980 2.take photos of every glacier on Earth and show people their beauty before some of them disappear forever 3.taking photos 4.glaciers’ beauty, their colors, shapes and the shadows in the sunlight 5.care more about glaciers and push governments to act against global warming
【导语】本文主要讲述了Garrett Fisher如何将他热爱的飞行和摄影结合起来,拍摄地球上冰川的故事。
1.原文第一段明确提到“The European Environment Agency says glaciers in the Alps have lost about half of their amount since 1900, and the melting (融化) has become faster since 1980.”,阿尔卑斯冰川的融化速度自1980年开始变快,因此填since 1980。
2.根据第二段“He is trying to take photos of every glacier on Earth, as he hopes to show people their beauty before some of them disappear forever.”可知,冰川因全球变暖不断消融,Fisher要赶在部分冰川永远消失前拍完所有冰川、向人们展示它们的美,因此他称自己在和时间赛跑。
3.第三段“This made him combine his two hobbies and decide to fly over the remaining glaciers to take photos”,提到Fisher要结合两个爱好,已知一个爱好是飞行,另一个就是摄影,因此填taking photos符合文意。
4.原文倒数第二段“But Fisher says satellite pictures can’t show glaciers’ beauty like his can—his photos capture (拍摄) their colors, shapes and the shadows in the sunlight.”提到,Fisher认为卫星照片无法像他的照片一样展示冰川的美,他的照片可以捕捉冰川的颜色、形状和阳光下的阴影,因此可得该答案。
5.根据倒数第二段最后一句“He hopes his photos can make people care more about glaciers and push governments to act against global warming.”,Fisher希望人们看到照片后更多关注冰川,推动政府应对全球变暖,因此可得该答案。

As we run into the Year of the Horse, let’s welcome this new helper and enjoy our rich culture together.

2. Heat it up.

(2026·陕西·模拟预测)Yang Zhenning, one of the greatest physicists and educators in the world, was born in Hefei, Anhui Province in 1922. He devoted his whole life to scientific research and education, and left a deep and lasting influence on China and the whole world. On October 18, 2025, he passed away.
When he was interviewed in his later years, he often talked about his lifelong connection with science and China. “I have been lucky to live in a time of great change,” he once said. “I have seen China rise from poverty (贫穷) to strength. That has been my greatest joy.”
In 1945, Yang went to the United States for further study. He kept working hard on modern physics and made great achievements. In 1957, he and Tsung-Dao Lee won the Nobel Prize in Physics for their research on parity non-conservation in weak interactions (弱相互作用中宇称不守恒). They became the first Chinese scientists to win this great honor.
After living and working abroad for many years, Yang returned to China in 1999 and worked as a professor at Tsinghua University. At Tsinghua, he tried his best to build a world-class physics research center. He made great efforts to train and encourage young scientists. He donated most of his savings to set up scholarships (奖学金) for poor but excellent students. Even in his 80s and 90s, he still taught undergraduates in person. When a student once asked him why he kept teaching at such an old age, Yang smiled and said, “Passing on knowledge to young people is the most meaningful thing. When I see their curious eyes, I feel young again.”

(2026·陕西西安·一模)You are sitting in the cinema with popcorn in your mouth when a scene flashes on the screen—the moment when the hero fights against the villain (反派)—and you doubt whether success is possible.
The last reason why superhero movies are so popular today is money. These movies make a great deal of money. This win-win situation drives a lot of filmmakers to keep making films.
Over the past few years, superheroes have turned from comic-book characters to movie stars. They have become such a common part of popular culture that it seems we can’t live without them. You might eat your popcorn while watching the breath-stealing scenes again soon.

For the next nine days, Feng Yu’s life was all about the routine. She practiced every moment as much as she could.
On the day of the final, the team swam into the pool together. They performed their difficult routine. They moved as one person. Everyone watching was amazed. The team got the gold medal! They did something that seemed impossible.

(2026·陕西咸阳·一模)Glaciers (冰川) are large blocks of snow and ice. Sadly, many are getting smaller because of global warming. The European Environment Agency says glaciers in the Alps have lost about half of their amount since 1900, and the melting (融化) has become faster since 1980.
This makes American photographer (摄影师) and pilot Garrett Fisher feel he’s in a race against time. The 41-year-old man recently flew close to Europe’s largest glacier in Norway. He is trying to take photos of every glacier on Earth, as he hopes to show people their beauty before some of them disappear forever.
Fisher loved flying and ________ when he was young. In the late 1990s, a friend told him that glaciers around the world were disappearing. This made him combine his two hobbies and decide to fly over the remaining glaciers to take photos, making it his life’s work.
