Everyone needs time to relax, especially for students who have too much study pressure. Relaxing is not a waste of time, it can help us keep a clear mind and study better. There are many good ways to relax, and different people have different favorite free time activities.
Some students like quiet activities. They enjoy reading books, listening to music or drawing pictures in their free time. These activities can make them calm and help them forget their stress. Some students like active activities. They like playing basketball, running or going for a walk with friends. Doing sports can not only make them healthy but also help them relax their body and mind.
Also, spending time with family and friends is a great way to relax. Talking with them can make us feel warm and happy. We can also hang out with friends, go to the cinema or have a picnic together. These activities can make our free time more colorful.
But we should remember not to spend too much time on one activity. For example, watching too much TV or playing too many computer games is bad for our eyes and study. We should cut down on these activities and choose healthy and meaningful ways to relax.

How much time do you spend looking at your smartphone or computer every day These electronic devices (电子设备) help us in many ways, but they may also cause health problems.
Too much screen time can cause your eyes to feel dry and sore and is not good for your eyesight. To help your eyes stay healthy, follow the “20-20-20” rule: After 20 minutes’ use of eyes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Your eyes aren’t the only parts of your body that could become worse from using electronic devices. People who write a lot of text messages can develop “texting thumb”, which will lead to the loss of grip strength (抓力).
Scientific research shows that smartphones can also hurt your mind. One of the biggest problems is that using smartphones can affect your sleep patterns. Doctors say the screen light stops you from feeling sleepy. So they advise people not to use smartphones for at least one hour before trying to sleep.
Another serious danger is Internet addiction (沉迷). Many people turn to the Internet to make light of feelings of stress, sadness, and loneliness. Over time, they might start to depend (依赖) on the Internet and feel worried if they’re not online. To stop yourself from falling into this kind of trouble, control the time you spend on electronic devices.
To use your smartphone or computer safely, just make sure you follow the advice. Also, remember that there is more to life than looking at an electronic screen.

阅读下面短文,根据短文内容简要回答下列问题。
How to Relax When You Are Stressed
Stress is a common problem for many middle school students. With heavy homework, frequent exams and busy after-school classes, it’s easy to feel stressed and tired. When stress comes, it’s hard to focus on study and enjoy daily life, but there are simple and practical ways to help you relax and get rid of pressure.
Taking deep breaths is one of the fastest ways to relax. When you feel stressed, sit quietly and take a few deep breaths. Inhale slowly through your nose, hold your breath for three seconds, and then exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat this several times, and you will feel much calmer soon. This method is easy to do anywhere, whether you’re in class, at home or on the way to school.
Listening to your favorite music is another great way. Music has a strong influence on our mood. Soft and slow music can calm your mind and help you forget all your worries. You can listen to music while doing homework, taking a walk or lying on your bed. It doesn’t take much time, but it can bring you a lot of comfort and relaxation.
Doing something you enjoy is also effective. Everyone has hobbies, such as drawing, reading storybooks, playing ball games or even cooking simple snacks. When you put your heart into something you like, you will forget the pressure of study and feel happy. This can also help you release stress and get a sense of achievement.
Talking to someone you trust is important too. When you feel stressed, don’t keep your feelings to yourself. Talk to your parents, friends or teachers about your worries. They will listen to you patiently, give you useful advice and support you. Sometimes, just talking about your stress can make you feel much lighter.
Remember, stress is not terrible. What matters is how you deal with it. By trying these simple ways, you can relax yourself and live a happier, healthier school life.

71.范文
It’s normal that we suffer from stress in our daily lives. I felt stressed when I had a fight with my friend Lucy while working on our group poster project. She thought I didn’t try hard, which made me so upset that I shut myself away for a day. I didn’t want to talk to anyone. Later, I realized I had to deal with it. I told her that we should talk with each other to clear the air. I tried to explain that I just didn’t know how to draw well, and she said she’d help me. We finished the poster soon. This experience taught me that it’s helpful to talk out problems. In future, I’ll never shut out troubles—talking works better.
