When we think of forests, we usually imagine trees standing still on dry land. But have you ever seen a forest that “walks” In the coastal (沿海的) areas of Fujian and other southern provinces, there is a special kind of forest called the mangrove (红树林). These trees seem to “walk” across the mud over time.
Mangroves are wonders of nature because they can live in salt water, where most other trees would die. Their most amazing feature is their root system. Instead of growing straight down, many mangrove roots grow up and out of the water, looking like legs or stilts (高跷). These “legs” help the tree breathe air even when the tide (潮汐) covers the ground. They also hold the tree firmly against strong waves and winds.
How do they “walk” As a mangrove tree grows older, its old roots may die and rot (腐烂) away. At the same time, new roots grow in the direction of the sea or along the coast. Over many years, this process makes the tree appear to move slowly from its original spot. In fact, the position of a single tree can shift (移动/偏移) several meters over a century!
Besides being amazing, mangroves are very useful. They act as a natural wall protecting villages from typhoons and storms. Their dense roots provide a safe home for fish, crabs, and birds. Many baby fish hide among the roots to avoid larger enemies.
However, these wonderful forests are in danger. Pollution and human activities have reduced their numbers. Luckily, Fujian Province has set up many nature reserves (保护区) to protect them. By planting more mangroves, we are not only saving the trees but also protecting our own homes from natural disasters.
26.Why are mangrove trees called “walking trees”

B.Because they grow new roots and lose old ones, slowly changing their position.
C.Because the wind blows them from one place to another quickly.
D.Because people carry them to different spots every year.

Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. This is an old English saying. It means that we should go to bed early at night and get up early in the morning. If we do so, we shall be healthy. We shall also be rich and clever.
Is this true Perhaps it is. The body must have enough sleep. Children of your age need ten hours’ sleep every night. If you go to bed late, you can’t have enough sleep. Then you can’t think carefully and your homework will be wrong. You will not be wise and you may not become rich. Some people go to bed late at night and get up late in the morning. This is not good for them. We should sleep when it is dark. The dark helps us sleep well. When the daylight comes, we should get up. It is the time for exercise. If the body is not used, it will become weak. Exercise keeps it strong. Exercise helps the blood to move around inside the body. Blood takes nutrition (营养) to all parts of our bodies. The brains in our heads also need blood. We think with our brains. If we keep our bodies healthy and take exercise, we can think better! Our bodies also need air to work well. Without air, we will die. Get up early in the morning and we can have plenty of clean and fresh air. That will keep us healthy and happy.

26.根据第3段中的“As a mangrove tree grows older, its old roots may die and rot (腐烂) away...In fact, the position of a single tree can shift (移动/偏移) several meters over a century!”
27.根据第2段中的“Instead of growing straight down, many mangrove roots grow up and out of the water, looking like legs or stilts (高跷). These “legs” help the tree breathe air even when the tide (潮汐) covers the ground. They also hold the tree firmly against strong waves and winds.”
28.根据第4段中的“Their dense roots provide a safe home for fish, crabs, and birds. Many baby fish hide among the roots to avoid larger enemies.”

71.范文:
Dear Tom,
I’m glad to tell you about my favourite natural wonder—Niagara Falls.
Niagara Falls is in North America, between the USA and Canada. It is very magnificent with a huge amount of water. The sound of the falling water is really loud and exciting. You can take a boat to get close to the falls, and the view around is beautiful.
I visited it with my family last year. It was such an amazing experience! I felt so small but also deeply touched by the power of nature. I will never forget it.
What about you What natural wonder do you like best
Yours,
Li Hua
