主语
+ was/were

(+ by + 动作执行者)

一般过去时被动语态的各类句式
肯定句: 主语 + was/were + 动词过去分词 (+ by +
动作执行者).

2. 否定句: 主语 + was/were + not + 动词过去分词
(+ by + 动作执行者).
The windows were not broken by him.

3. 一般疑问句: Was/Were + 主语 + 动词过去分词
(+ by + 动作执行者)
- Was your homework finished yesterday
- Yes, it was. / No, it wasn't.
特殊疑问句: 疑问词 + was/were + 主语 + 动词过去分词
(+ by + 动作执行者)
- When was the company founded
- Two years ago.
—你昨天完成作业了吗？
—是的，完成了。/ 不，没有完成。
—这家公司是什么时候成立的？

含有不定式的主动句变被动句
Liu Xiang was encouraged (by the school) to train for the high jump.
For example：
在“主语 + 谓语 + 宾语 + 不定式”结构中，当动词是被动语态时，其后的不定式可保持主动语态。
The school encouraged Liu Xiang to train for the high jump.
当含有被动含义时，不定式本身能变成被动语态。
For example：
He never expected the book to be found (by them).
He never expected them to find the book.

含有短语动词的主动句变被动句
The pets were taken care of by us.
For example：
短语动词是不可分割的整体，改为被动句后要保持其完整性，介词或副词不可遗漏。
We took care of the pets.

含有双宾语的主动句变被动句
①将间接宾语变为主语，直接宾语保持不变。
②将直接宾语变为主语，间接宾语前须有介词(一般
是for或to)。
He gave me a book.
I was given a book by him.
The book was given to me by him.

Last month, on a Saturday afternoon, something unhappy happened. I had a disagreement with my parents. We argued about my phone use and a broken promise.
The problem was caused by my mistake: I promised to finish my science project before using my phone. But I played a new game first for two hours. When my mom checked, she found the project wasn't started. She was cross with me, and my dad said, “A lot of the research needed to be done on your phone!”
I felt upset but soon realized I was wrong. I said, “I'm sorry for breaking my promise. I'll start now.” My parents thought I should manage time better. So, after I finished the project carefully that night, we talked calmly.
In the end, a new family rule was made about phone use. After this, I learnt that keeping promises and talking gently with parents can make our relationship better.
