work in pairs to design a "help plan" (who/ why/what to help) using target language.

can/could/must表示推测

当我们想表达可能发生某事以及某人可能做某事时,可以用情态动词may/might来表示。
他可能知道答案。
我们可能不会去那个城市。
might 与 may 没有太大的区别,形式上 might 是 may 的过去式,但在表示将来的可能情况时,两者都可使用,且might 表示的可能性比 may 表示的可能性要小。
情态动词一般无人称和数的变化,后需接动词原形。
情态动词否定式是在动词后面加not。

② It is possible that it will snow in the night.

天气很可能会又冷又湿。
夜里有可能会下雪。
12月份去阿拉斯加旅游有可能吗?
英语中表示可能的方式很多,除使用情态动词may/might以外,还可以通过will以及表示“可能” 的形容词和副词表达,常用的有:
1. It is possible to do something
2. It is possible that...
3. 主语 + will probably/possibly + v.
probably表示“很可能”,所表示的可能性比possibly要大。
can/could表示推测
① Jack could be in pain.
② Can/Could this be true
③ It can't be Dad. He won't be back now.
can 和 could 表示对现在或将来的推测,意为 “会,可能”。can表示推测时,往往用于否定句和疑问句。could则可用于肯定句、否定句和疑问句。
用于疑问句时,can比could表示的“可能性”要大。
用于否定句时,cannot (can't) 表示“不可能”。
杰克可能很疼。
这有可能是真的吗
不可能是爸爸。他现在不会回来。

can、could表示“能够、可以”。

must表示推测
① You must be tired after such a long journey.
② My mother must be watering the flowers in the garden now.
情态动词 must 表示有把握的猜测,意为“一定,准是”,通常只用于肯定句。
经过这么长的路程,你想必累了。
我妈妈现在一定在花园里浇花。
否定形式 must not (mustn't) 表示“不能”或“禁止”的意思,不表示推测。
① We must find a good method to learn computer well.

must表示“必须”。
我们必须找一个学好电脑的方法。
