Work in groups. Think about people in need of help and discuss ways to offer help. Then take a group vote to decide on the people to help.
Presenting ideas
Possible results
This will create a warm atmosphere at the nursing home. We can also learn patience and compassion from this experience.
Basic Information
There are not enough volunteers at the Sunshine Nursing Home. Many elderly residents are facing loneliness because they rarely have visitors.
Activities
We plan to organise a weekly visit programme. There must be something for us to do—maybe read newspapers, chat with them, or help with gardening.
Setting the time and place
We could do it every Saturday afternoon. We’ll meet at the school gate at 1:30 pm and go together.
Possible challenges
It might be difficult to communicate with some residents who have hearing problems. We may need to prepare some visual aids.

This will lead to better learning opportunities for those students. We can learn the value of sharing from this activity.

Some students in rural schools couldn’t afford new textbooks. There is not enough learning material for all students.

There must be something for us to do—we plan to start a book donation campaign in our school.

We could do it next week during lunch breaks. We’ll set up collection boxes in the school lobby.

The work is by no means easy. We may need to sort and clean all donated books. Our storage space is only enough for 200 books.
