I did a fun project in my neighbourhood yesterday. The topic was “How do you like your neighbourhood ” Our teacher asked us to interview people with different jobs.
Read the passage and complete the mind map.
First, I went to Mr Wang’s tailor shop. He was busy but still answered my questions. “I like my job and I like this neighbourhood. I have many friends here. People help one another in this neighbourhood. This is a friendly place.”

My second stop was Ms Li’s bakery. It was warm inside and full of yummy treats. “I get up at 5:00 a.m. every day to make bread. It is ready by 6:30 a.m. I am busy but happy. The people here are kind and polite.”
After the bakery, I visited a grocery store, a flower shop, a bookstore, and a clothing shop. I learned a lot about the people in my neighbourhood. They think this neighbourhood is nice and clean. Doing the interviews was fun.

Language Points
How do you like... ：你（们）觉得……怎么样
常用于询问对方对某人/某物/某地的看法，答语常用形容词描述特征（如 nice/clean/friendly），或补充具体感受。本句与“What do you think of... ”完全同义，可互换使用。
例：
—How do you like the park =What do you think of the park
你觉得这个公园怎么样？
—I like it very much.
我非常喜欢它。

full：adj.充满的；丰富的；完整的
反义词是：empty “空的”
full of意为“充满……”，是形容词短语，常用结构为“be full of +名词”，同义替换：= be filled with。
例：The flower shop was bright and full of beautiful flowers.
这家花店很明亮，摆满了漂亮的花。
inside在本句中作地点副词，表“在里面”，修饰形容词warm，说明 “暖和” 的地点是面包店内部；地点副词前无需加介词。
It was warm inside and full of yummy treats.

get up：起床，其对应词组为go to bed“上床睡觉”。
I usually go to bed at 9:30 p.m. and get up at 6:30 a.m.我通常晚上9:30上床睡觉，早上6:30起床。
to make bread作目的状语，“to+动词原形”构成的不定式短语，放在句末作目的状语，表“做某事的目的是……”，常用翻译为 “为了……”。
a.m./p.m. 的用法：a.m.表上午/午前（正午 12 点前），p.m.表下午/午后（正午 12 点后），可写作 am/pm/A.M./P.M.，与数字连用，格式为“数字+a.m./p.m.”。

polite： adj. 有礼貌的；客气的
反义词：impolite adj. 不礼貌的（前缀-im表否定）
be polite to sb. 对某人有礼貌
例：The people here are polite to the neighbours.
这里的人们对邻居很有礼貌。
The people here are kind and polite.
这里的人很友善且有礼貌。
