The Sahara Desert is the largest hot desert in the world. It covers over 9 million square kilometers across North Africa. The weather there can be very different in a day. During the day, temperatures rise above 40°C, while nights can be very cold. It is one of the worst places on Earth.
The Sahara is as big as Canada but has very few people. Less than 2.5 million people live there, most of them people who move around a lot. These people don't have a fixed(固定的） home. They move from place to place, taking everything they need to live. The people who live in the Sahara are called Bedouin. They use goats, sheep, and camels （骆驼）for food and to move around.
