Should children do housework Different people have different ideas. A few parents will say that their children are too busy to do housework. Many more of them ask their children to do housework, but housework just doesn't get done. So most parents would rather do housework themselves.
However, housework is good for kids. Doing housework helps children develop a sense of responsibility (责任) which is good for other areas (领域) of their lives.
Although housework is important, few kids like doing it at all. In a survey of 1,000 American adults, 75 percent believed normal housework made kids “more responsible”. However, although 82 percent of the parents said they had done housework when they were young, only 56 percent of them asked their children to do housework.
Sports and homework are not get-out-of-housework-free cards. After all, the goal is to raise adults who can balance (平衡) their love and responsibility in family and work. Housework helps teach that balance.
What should you do when getting children to do housework Accept no excuses. Don't worry if you need to repeat yourself. If you're spending more time getting the child to do this job than it would take to do it yourself, then you're doing it right. Can a reward help Maybe. But if you're trying to teach kids to share their responsibility of a home, paying them for housework is not a wise choice.
根据材料内容选择最佳答案。
