资源简介 课题 Unit 1 Looking forwards Developing idea ( writing ) 教学目标 1.语言能力 通过解读推荐信,理解推荐信的结构,语言和内容的特征,总结并积累申请信的常用句型和表达方式并在写作中加以运用。 2.文化意识 通过学生习作中出现的一些中式英语,意识到中西方表达方式的不同,并能够针对问题提出相应的解决措施。 3.思维品质 通过解构并辨析文体特征,知道并理解申请信应具语气要正式,礼貌,自信。陈述要具有相关性和说服力,从而训练思辨能力;通过评价同伴写作在真实性等文体特征上的优点与不足,发展批判性思维。 4.学习能力 通过师生互动、小组活动、独立思考,迁移应用申请信于真实情景应用文中。 教学重点: 分析归纳推荐信的结构,语言和内容的特征 教学难点: 运用合乎逻辑、得体的语言,写出条理清晰的实例文本,并对同伴习作有针对性的评价。 教学思路 本课采用支架理论,结合学生学习的最近发展区,从阅读的"输入"和写作的输出"两个角度为学生搭建不同的支架,以保证学生高效阅读、高质量写作。在教学过程中,教师以"导"激活主题语境、以"读"解构文体特征、以"思"辨析文体特征、以"练"输入主题语汇,通过四个教学环节为学生搭建建议信的结构支架、内容支架和衔接支架。其次,通过"写"与"评"检测支架的理解和内化,给予学生足够的时间独立完成初稿;学生完成初稿之后,教师引导学生基于评价表对同伴的写作进行评价。 教学过程 I Lead-in The teacher sets a situation to arouse Ss’ interest in reading a job advertisement and answer two questions about this advertisement. What job is offered ? What are the requirements for the job? II Read and Think The teacher make students evaluate the application by Davis. Q : whether Davis is an ideal applicant. A : Davis is very qualified for this job.,and her application letter is convincing. III Read and Analyse The teacher leads Ss to appreciate this application letter. Step 1 structure Ss read and do the match activity to make sense of the structure of application letter. Beginning ---writing purpose, self introduction Body--- personal skills, characters and previous experiences Ending---expectation ,gratitude,contact information Step 2 tone of application letter. The teacher asks students to read the following parts, trying to work out the tone of this letter. “Dear Ms Smith.”“Yours sincere,““I received excellent feedback for my work,” “thank you for your time and consideration” Q :what tone is the language? A:formal ,polite ,thankful and confident Tip1: The tone should be formal, polite, thankful and confident. useful expressions: I sincerely hope that my application would be favorably considered. I have the confidence that I am qualified for this job. I would highly appreciate it if you could give me this precious chance. Should you treat my application favorably, I would spare no effort to offer my best service. Step 3 body parts The teacher inspires Ss to find out the points chosen in the body part are highly relevant to the requirements of advertisement,and that more information about how this advantage can be useful in this job is added to each point,which help make the application letter convincing. Tip2: The points should be highly relevant to the requirements. Tip3: Add specific information to make the point convicting. The teacher asks Ss to read and find out useful expressions and offer more . The teacher asks Ss to think about how to connect each point logically. Tip4: use transitional phrases to connect sentences. Useful expressions:first ... second ... third ..., what’s more ,besides ,further more, on top of that,last but not least.
