1. 回顾并巩固本单元关于自然灾害的核心词汇(wildfire, snowstorm, lightning, smoke, rescue 等)以及时间连接词(when, while, then, as soon as, finally 等)。
2. 理解链式故事(chain story)的创作规则:每人轮流添加1-2个句子,保持故事连贯性和逻辑性。
3. 通过分析课本提供的两个故事开头,明确故事的背景、人物和冲突。

“Look!” my brother shouted. “I can see the fire over there!” I had my phone out. I was ready to call for help.
My dad shouted, “Wildfire! Let’s run back!” My mother shouted, “Be quick! And be careful!” My father called the firefighters and told them that a wild fire had broken out here. Then we ran down the mountains.
At last, we were safe. And the firefights came, they put out the fire.

Suddenly, I heard a loud crack — a big branch broke because of the heavy snow. Then all the lights went out. We were in complete darkness.
My mother lit some candles while my father checked the window. We heard a knock on the door. It was our neighbor. “My wife is sick. Can you help ” he asked. My father followed him into the snowstorm. Two hours later, he came back and said, “She’s fine now.”
Although the snowstorm was scary, it brought our neighbors closer together.
