What’s it like to have a cat as the headmaster of a kindergarten It sounds crazy, but it is a real thing happening in Shenzhen.
The cat is now a superstar at Caitian Kindergarten. It has its own “office” and “mailbox”. Its photos have also been posted in corners of the kindergarten.
The story began almost two years ago when a homeless cat entered the kindergarten one January morning in 2021. The teachers discovered the cat in poor health, and they took care of it. After the cat got well, the teachers wondered about the next step-should they let the cat go
It was a hard decision for them, as both teachers and children had fallen in love with the cat. For this, they held a vote (投票) to decide on the cat’s life. Most of them wanted it to stay and some even suggested “hiring”(聘用),it as a headmaster. “It was an interesting idea. An ‘inauguration’(就职典礼) was held for the cat immediately, and we gave it a new name — Xiaocai,” said a teacher.
Xiaocai has a busy timetable every day, meeting its fans and receiving letters. Some fans were also surprised to receive “replies” from the “headmaster” when they shared their secrets with it.
“Hiring the cat as a headmaster makes both the children and teachers become kinder and more warm-hearted.”said the teacher.

Flying cars first appeared through science fiction (科幻小说) in the early 1900s. Today, hundreds of companies are working to make flying cars a reality.
"Building flying cars is about more than just bringing science fiction to life. It’s about using more of the space to get people where they need to go," says engineer Xiaosong Du. "Imagine a world where you could beat rush-hour traffic by simply lifting off the ground and flying over the other drivers. This could be especially useful as the world’s population continues to grow."
Even though some companies plan to sell their cars sooner, flying cars probably won’t be common for 10 or 20 years, Du says. One of the biggest barriers (障碍) is the price. The company Alef Aeronautics, for example, plans to sell personal cars that can drive on roads and take off into the skies. When they go into production as early as next year, the cars will likely cost around $300,000 each.
Besides, flying cars need to be tested over and over again. And the government will need to create rules for flying cars. Rules of the road aren’t enough. Flying cars will need rules of the sky. "You don’t want the cars falling on top of other people and hurting them," Du says.
Powering flying cars is another barrier. That’s what researchers like Du are trying to improve before flying cars hit the market.
63.What does Xiaosong Du say about building flying cars
A.It helps people better use the space. B.It gets support from the government.
C.It sounds like creating science fiction. D.It brings jobs to the growing population.
64.What can we learn about Alef Aeronauties’ cars
A.They have finished flying tests. B.They have gone into production.
C.They are commonly seen on roads. D.They are expensive for most people.
65.What does Xiaosong Du mean by his words in paragraph 4
A.Flying cars are less dangerous. B.Safety is important for flying cars.
C.Making flying cars is not practical. D.Rules of the road need to be recreated.
66.What is the best title (标题) for the text
A.Flying Cars Ruling the Sky B.Flying Cars Hitting the Market
C.Flying Cars May Be Closer yet Far D.Flying Cars Still 10 or 20 Years Away
What would you paint if someone asked you to tell them about China For 12-year-old Liu Mei from Middle School in Chengdu, the answer is a colorful combination (结合) of the ancient and the modern.

When we sleep, our brain never really turns off. It still processes sounds while we’re sleeping. If there is a sudden increase in noise, it may wake us up. To have a good sleep, some people choose to use earplugs (耳塞). Actually, less noise isn’t always the answer. Some colored noises can make our brain relax and help us have a better sleep!
Maybe you’ve heard of white noise, but there are also two colored noises: pink noise and brown noise. White noise creates a steady humming sound (稳定的嗡嗡声) like radio or television static (静电噪声). It covers the loud sound that may wake us up, allowing us to go to sleep faster and stay asleep longer.
Pink noise is deeper and softer than white noise. Think of rain falling on the street or a gentle wind blowing through the leaves of trees. Brown noise, also known as red noise, creates an even deeper sound than pink noise. Examples of brown noise include strong waterfalls and thunder.
White noise, pink noise and brown noise are all useful in helping people get a better sleep. However, which colored noise can give you the best sleep depends on your personal preferences. The noise that helps you sleep most soundly is the one that you like best.
70.What does the writer think can help people sleep better
A.Always using earplugs. B.Hearing some colored noises.
C.Having a nice dinner. D.Doing exercise before sleep.
71.Which of the following is pink noise
A.The sound of wild wind. B.The strong waterfall.
C.The television static. D.The rain falling on the road.
72.What can we learn from the last paragraph

D.People can sleep well with their favorite colored noise.

I have shared a room with my brother Dave ever since I remember. The problem is, he can’t do anything without making a mess and he won’t tidy up later. I had to make some rules about not leaving things on the floor in the middle of the room. It’s also interesting to watch Dave when he finally decides to do his homework. First, it takes him a long time to prepare his desk, get himself something to eat, turn on some music and so on. And then it’s almost time to go to bed. How he ever manages to get good marks is a really strange question. I feel unhappy about that, but I like him. It’s great to be able to chat and laugh together after we come back from school.
