(1)用来连接两个相同的句子成分，该结构中的 also可省略。 当not only位于句首时，其后的部分要用倒装语序。
Not only did I help the old lady get on the escalator, but also helped her overcome her fear. 我不仅帮助那位老太太上了自动扶梯，还帮助她克服了恐惧。
(2)not only... but also... 连接两个并列成分作主语时，谓语动词与其邻近的主语在人称和数上保持一致，即遵循“就近原则”。
